I wrote The Crystal Navigator to inspire children to write, to help them with the fear of making mistakes in school, to make them laugh, and to bring art and artists to life.

I have a PHD in Renaissance Art History and, until recently, have taught at Universities in the US and in Italy. Fours years ago, I decided I wanted to write a children's fantasy adventure that would address issues such as the fear of making mistakes and school anxiety, and also introduce kids to art history, hopefully sparking a life-long interest in art.
