My first picture book, Marco Flamingo, which I wrote and illustrated was released this month by Raven Tree Press.
There are three editions...English only, Spanish only, and Bilingual. I am now doing the illustrations for the second book in the Marco adventures series.

After I retired from Art education I devoted my time to learning about the book industry. I was euphoric to be able to have the time to write and paint on a daily basis. The rejection letters from pub houses and critiques from my writing friends helped me grow and learn. I became consumed with collecting picture books, spending evenings in bookstores and browsing through the kids section in libraries. I attended conferences and workshops. I had to become computer literate fast. Well, that's still a ongoing process.

This has been an exciting three years of focus and new adventures. Marco is my first "writing child" created by the enthusiasm I generated for this new adventure in my life.
