Kavitha Punniyamurthi is a freelance journalist, writer and illustrator.

Kavitha spent the early part of her childhood in New Delhi, India. She moved to her hometown, Chennai, nearly sixteen years ago.

Kavitha has been writing since she was a child. Her work has appeared in several international magazines. More recently, two of her picture books written and illustrated by her - 'Kattumaram's Midnight Adventure' and 'Cat and Mouse in Partnership', were published by Shared Books Ltd.,British Columbia, Canada.

“When something written by me touches a chord in my young readers, makes their eyes light up with joy and brings a smile to their faces – that, is my biggest reward. The sense of fulfillment that I draw from this is what drives me.”

Kavitha loves writing poetry, fiction and non-fiction and illustrating for children.
