Hi All!

I'm brand new to this site and could use a little direction. I've stumbled upon Jackflap while searching for a local publisher in San Diego.

My lifelong dream has always been to become a Children's Book Illustrator. I've recently quit my job as an established Events Manager to pursue my passion, but I don't know where exactly to start. Any suggestions?

I have the artistic talent, and a bit of formal training here and there, but need to work on getting my professional portfolio together and maybe getting my foot in the door with a publisher. I would love to banter with anyone willing to offer me some guidance.
