Lois has been an avid reader and writer for as long as she can remember. When an elementary teacher read her mystery story to the class, she decided that one day she would become an author. On her way to becoming an author Lois has had an extensive teaching career in which she has been a classroom teacher and a music specialist for a variety of ages.

Lois has lived in various towns and cities in Canada including the Maritime provinces, Quebec and the Prairies. This has sparked her passion for making Canada's past come alive for young people through compelling characters who make us care. School audiences in Calgary and Toronto have been enthusiastic about the interactive, informative author talks. Audiences usually range from Grade 3 - Grade 9 although Lois has also presented Acadian history to Grade 2 groups. She has participated in events such as Word on the Street and the Ontario Library Association Super Conference.

Currently, Lois teaches and writes in Calgary, Alberta where she is lives with her husband and is mom to an adult son and a toddler daughter.
