In 1999, I moved to Sanibel Island, Florida, for the incredible variety of wildlife and gorgeous tropical environment. With four young grandkids I wrote my first children's book, DILLO - A Baby Armadillo's Adventure on Sanibel Island. The story introduces the kids to a wonderful variety of Florida wildlife. Having a background in teaching and counseling psychology, I took the opportunity to add a few life lessons into the mix. Due to a difficult birth, Dillo was born with a permanent smile. I was like that as a kid - with a smile always on my face. But, as with Dillo, it didn't mean I was happy all the time. And, as with Dillo, I had to learn hard lessons in how to express my feelings. It only took me 40 some odd years. I am a happy person, especially now, living in wildlife paradise and writing to my hearts delight.
