My drawings capture what we see when we let our minds wander back to the places and people—both real and imagined—that populated our childhood. Wandering nostalgically into my own inner world, I discovered that it had continued to grow larger, richer, and more whimsical even as I thought it had gone dormant. The classic children’s stories and illustrators that inspired me as a child stayed with me and were there to greet me upon my return. Storytellers Lewis Carroll, Roald Dahl, and The Grimm Brothers, and illustrators Arthur Rackham, Maurice Sendak, and Edmund Dulac all conspired and encouraged me to bring my fantasy world to paper.
