I guess my main job is writing. I write books about all kinds of things, articles about accounting and finance, opinion pieces for newspapers, and the occasional short story and poem. I love to write letters to the editors of newspapers - just quick notes expressing my thoughts on something.

I have a dog, two cats, thousands of bees, a bunch of chickens, three ducks, one goose. I like to travel, especially to Brazil.

I'm now working on a book about a nation of escaped slaves that was in Brazil from about 1600 to about 1694.
