Born in 1948 I think I was writing from the minute I could lift a pencil.I struggled for years to write novels for women but was not successful. My short stories were a little 'too different' to be accepted by magazines. However every time I write a letter to a magazine or newspaper it is published, so I must be doing something right.I have won a number of prizes for my efforts too.In 1998 I saw a competition for a children's story run by The Academy of Children's Writers and sat down and wrote 'Tommy's Magic Plot' (it took me all of ten minutes!) It was about three children who devise a way of growing square tomatoes. I won third prize and this then set me along the road to writing for children.In 1999 I started working on a novel 'Merlin's Crystal', following that with 'Secrets of Manor Parsley' and then 'Old Ghosts of Manor Parsley'.These three books are in the bookshops now under the title of 'Merlin's Crystal'. The book is the complete trilogy at a cost of £11.99 per copy. For children aged 12 to 112!
