I am a retired administrative assistant with the Office of the State Appellate Prosecutor in the state of Illinois. I've been married to my best friend for 37 years; we have three grown children (a son and identical twin daughters), two grandchildren (a boy and a baby girl) and a Jack Russell terrier named Willie. We live in southern Illinois.

I began writing poetry several years ago and have been a contributing poet in several poetry books. I have now been published as a chldren's author and have written a series of books about a little girl named Matilda. The first two in the series, "Matilda's Upside Down Smile" and "Matilda Takes Ballet," have been published. They are in rhyme, have beautiful illustrations drawn and painted by my illustrator (not computer-generated), and they all have life lessons involving current problems children face everyday.
