When I was 16, my sister asked me what I wanted to do with my life. "Write." "About what?" she asked me. "Life! Of course, that means I have to live some of it first." I did not begin writing again until my 30's, after an early marriage, a wonderful daughter and single parenthood was also my identity. In the 49 years since then, I have worked as a self-employed Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Social Worker, Professional Speaker, Continuing Education (for Probation Officers, Nurses and Psychotherapists) instructor, Junior College teacher, Web-based radio host and newspaper columnist. Through the wonder of being able to peer into the lives of others as I was helping them, I have, indeed, learned a LOT about life!



In my life now, I write (I have 18 published books and booklets and am currently re-writing some that have "publication rights issues"). I am host of "Full Power Living" which aims to "awaken the world to the power and importance of human emotions" , which has been broadcast since 2004 (we have close to 150 fantastic shows archived). I also still offer psychotherapy sessions in the San Francisco Bay Area. My focus is on helping people create (or repair) "Foundations--For Life!" I am a specialist in dealing with emotions (hence EmotBal and EmotionalPro.com), due largely to my status as a recovering Angry Person! We are currently in production of a CD entitled "Awaken to Your Emotions," a compilation of six of the radio shows that deal with Anger, Jealousy, Worry, Depression, Guilt, Fear and overall Emotional Literacy. We focus on the true purpose of emotions--signals and guides for action--that most people don't know about. It makes working with emotions easy!



A full-length book is also in the making that describes the "system" that runs life on earth. Once I have understood the system and work with it, my life has become increasingly easy. I'm looking for a good title for this book (working title is "Born to Learn" but my friends tell me that's a turnoff for most readers!).



In addition, there's my personal life, where I am mother to 7 adult offspring--2 birth children, 3 step children, one adopted, one foster--and grandmother of 4. I've been married for 9 years to Bob Fink, a neurosurgeon, writer and musician, after nearly 20 years as a single parent. I adopted his 13 year old daughter when her mother died of cancer--she's now 20 and in college. Great person--and a gift to my life! I love to garden (my husband and I are growing winter tomatoes this year), snow ski, backpack and swim. We live with 3 cats, a fox-terrier mix dog named Bella, and feed two "under the house" cats who prefer freedom to the warmth and dangers (the dog) of our home.

Amazon seems to no longer be listing all of my books (published in 1994), which include 7 "Exploring" Books on the topics of Anger, Grief, Guilt, Hurt, Loneliness, Fear and Jealousy (Exploring Jealousy with Your Child), as well as Happiness is a Decision of the Heart, of which I am co-author. I've self-published 99 Tips for Mastering Fear and the Bounce Back Series which tells readers how to "bounce back" from Anger and Argument, Jealousy, Making a Fool of Yourself, Being a Victim, Having Your Energy Drained and from Low Self-Esteem.
