I've loved books since my brother would pull me on his lap and read to me before I knew the alphabet. After I could read on my own, I would take a volume from our World Book Encyclopedia set and turn to any subject and begin to read. Now, every time I see a really good movie, I search the title page and credits to see if it was adapted from a book so I can read it and get the full story. I drive my poor husband crazy by telling him, "The book was better" after reading it. I'll never read a book or article by "skimming" it. I know how important each word is and how each one is an intregal part of the sum. I like to savor each word so I can experience the mood and tone and atmosphere the writer created. My first love is in the reading and my second is in the writing. I can't wait to pick up my own words and experience them as they stream from between their bindings.
