Wow, Maple Sugar from the tree. Now that sounds like sticky fun with kids! I like to use maple syrup in cooking.

The best thing to do is to keep at it, Bill. It's the same with just about anything. Writers have to keep writing and artists have to keep drawing. It's good to try different techniques so you get a feel of what works best for you.

Steven, the most helpful advice I was ever given when starting an illustration vocation was, draw, draw and draw. So keep at it, draw what you like, draw with live people (gesture drawing) this will give more authentic poses, draw from photos, draw as much as possible. Do not worry about style- as y... more

William, I wish I could give you suggestions, but I'm strictly a writer. I don't know much as far as breaking into art. You could try submitting samples to magazines, ezines, etc though.

Well, I am working on my first cover for a historical novel, and gettiong pretty busy with illustrating some children's books, two right now, so as soon as they are finished I will share, and the published versions up too. I can't believe how busy I have gotten!
