I write for people of all heights and always struggle to answer when people wonder what it's like writing for adults and children. For me, it's like asking what it's like to write for people with blue eyes and people with green eyes!

Right now I'm working a memoir about injury for teens and thinking about the whole teenage experience and what it was like to go through it with a hole in my neck and a wired-up throat. It's taken me this long to have a sense of humour about it - but I also want the pain to shine through. Again, I don't think this experience was special (ALL adolescents suffer) but just a bit dramatic...dramatic enough to write a story about. And that's another thing I'm thinking about, how story and memory and 'facts' work together (or don't).

I suspect the book will be half about that, too!
