1. Blog Tour Scavenger Hunt: Chosen by Paula Bradley

Welcome to another day of the Chosen Scavenger Hunt. Check out the excerpt below and enter for your chance to win a copy of this book. Also, be sure to stop by Alexia’s Books and Such tomorrow for another excerpt!

The exhilaration it brought was short-lived. More afraid than ever, she fought his embrace; however, peace descended and she surrendered to it. In this state of euphoria, Mariah never felt the pressure against her back recede.

When Mariah Adele Carpenter attempted to end her own life with a handful of pills, she thought she had left the cares of the world behind. Somehow, her act of self-destruction became one of redemption when a mysterious figure healed her – and set her on a journey that would test her faith, her perceptions and ultimately her sanity in Paula Bradley’s heart-pounding debut novel CHOSEN (Fiction Studio, 2011).

Mariah soon realizes that the deathbed visitation by an otherworldly figure has magnified the nascent extrasensory gifts she’s had since childhood. Desperate to understand what has happened, she reaches out to non-denominational minister Michael Jenkins. The gentle Englishman becomes her spiritual guide and bedrock support when she is drawn against her will into the minds of abducted children.

Her role in the rescue of these innocents draws the attention of FBI Special Agent Frannie Manzetti, who sees Mariah as a path to promotion and heightened status within the department. But can Manzetti keep her prize to herself once the women become friends? And can the agent protect her charge once the media gets hold of a stolen tape showing her psychic ability?

When her fourth Finding hits the airwaves, all hell breaks lose. Blessed and reviled in equal measure, she finds herself on trial for murder while another government agency develops its own covert agenda to control her and her abilities.

As her outer turmoil intensifies, Mariah is plagued by a series of terrifying nightmares, culminating in the discovery of an ingenious serial killer who somehow prevents her from finding out his identity and location. His elusive nature tortures her, driving her to frightening excesses as she becomes obsessed with finding him before he kills again.

2. Final entry in Chosen contest!

And we have our final entry in the Chosen contest! Here's Miss Holly S. with her copy!

(Yes, it is May 26th, but I received Holly's entry within the time limit and could not get online until now to to post it.)

I will post the winner who will have their first name and last initial appear in INITIATION as soon as humanly possible. I have 3 doctor appointments with Kate at Mayo today and she is my main focus and reason for being in Minnesota. But I'm hoping to announce the winner tonight.

I'll also be posting the winners of the Gelly Roll pen giveaway. I'll collect your names and addresses and will mail those when I get settled at home--probably the 2nd week of June.

Thank you ALL for participating in this contest! Best of luck! The winner, btw, will be chosen by a random number generator site that I use. That seems to be the most fair.

6. Chosen cover flat contest!

CHOSEN OUT MAY 3RD

Hooray CHOSEN release that's coming up next week! In honor of this *very* sparkly Super Special, I think a giveaway is in order.

Anyone interested in winning a signed cover flat of CHOSEN? (That's the cover of the book without the actual book inside. Just like the image above.) :)

I've got FIVE signed copies to give away. Here's the deal: if you're a US resident, leave a comment here. Tell me why you're THE ultimate Canterwood Crest fan. :) I'll draw five winners at random. If you're on Twitter and Tweet about the contest, make sure to Tweet at me and it'll count as an extra entry. Also, it counts double if you blog, Facebook or use the Internet in another way to tell your friends about the release of CHOSEN.

The contest ends on Friday, April 29th.

I'll announce the winners the following weekend or week. Be sure to leave me a way to contact you in case you're a winner.

This book is extremely special to Editor K and me--we infused so many of our fave products, colors, traits, cities, etc., that we both agree it's out favorite book in the series. Thank you, Team Canterwood, for allowing me to have my first Super Special!

xoxo

7. Thank you, all!

Thank you so much to everyone who helped participate in the super secret project! I'll email the winners this week, so check your inbox by Friday to see if you've won a signed copy of SRL.

And who's counting down with me to the release of it?? I sure am! I can't wait! This was one of the most fun books to write in the entire series and I hope you'll all love it!

Tomorrow's going to be superbusy--I've got a lot of work to do on CHOSEN. Gotta live up to that gorge cover. :)

9. CHOSEN cover reveal!

Ta-da! It's already live on Simon & Schuster's Website and without the cover on Amazon, but here's CHOSEN! This is a super special unlike *anything* you've read in the Canterwood series. More drama. More boys. More horses. A new girl.

I'm starting to outline it this weekend and I can't wait. CHOSEN hits stores in MAY 2011. :)

Happy Friday! :)

11. YA Book Giveaway

The winners of the 2009 Prism contest will be announced next month at the RWA National Conference. To celebrate Sleepless being a Young Adult nominee I'm giving away the three finalist books. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment recommending a great recent read. (Please tell me why you loved it, but no spoilers.) You'll help me build my summer TBR and hopefully everyone else will add to their pile too! You get one entry for your comment (even if you recommend multiple books). If you buzz my contest by placing a link somewhere and let me know, I'll give you a second entry. All entries must be received by Midnight (MST) on July 1st. One winner will be picked using my handy dandy Custom Random Number Generator. Good luck and have fun!
