I am busy at the moment creating images for a black and white gallery on my website so I thought I would post my little moonboy drawing for this weeks illustration friday..

It rose up in the winter night, it was a very large pale duck.
The Big Duck or Duck HouseMy submission for Illustration Friday's "pale" theme. Location: Along Rt.24 North of Rt. 27 by 1.25 miles. On the west side of the road.Suffolk County-NYLatitude: N40 degrees 53.28Longitude: W72 degrees 33.44. I have painted this duck house before here as a daytime piece. I made this one that resembles how the people of Suffolk decorate the duck at holiday time. A quick sketch to meet my goal of all 52 - Among the many wonders this life offers, when one holds a baby, warm and precious, all others pale to compare.

This is two weeks late (for illustration friday topic)- but I had made a start so I thought I may as well finish it. I have posted the original line work too so you can have a look at my process. My little red head girl doesn't have a name yet, she features in a few of my illo's, not sure if she needs a name really...
A very fitting picture it is too! Since my son redesigned my website for me I've not been able to change anything. Less for me to do I suppose ;)x
Nice clean illo, spot on, poor little chap looks sad, like Mum said..'No..you have had enough sweets!

Your little moon boy has stolen my heart! I love his little nose and his very round head. It's just all to yummy for words. Great illustration.
Awww, moonboy. Now why is he wandering by himself at night, in a forest. No wonder he's sad. And he looks tired, too. I so love your work, Kathy! Love his hair and the tall blue-pink trees.
Nice colours!
not only fitting... but visually stunning.
Beautiful colors-- love the moonlight shining through the trees.

Gorgeous! I love the moon and the tree vanishing in the background. Very nice!
Good Morning Kathy:
I love your work and have to admit that I have stolen tons of it and kept it to look at when I need to feel happy.
I don't believe I have used it on my blog yet, but I may have. When I first started my blog I didn't realize I could ask the artist.
Would it be alright if I ever use any of your pictures on my site and I will place your name by it (I have to figure out how to do a link).
Have a great day Kathy and your art is beautiful.
Peace
Renee

Love the colors, and love the take on the theme.
I would love to see a video of you working on a illustration. I love your technique, and am fascinated by how others work. Any plans for that?
Great drawing, BTW!
Look at that little face! He is adorable. Your color pencil technique looks so wonderful on this illo. Beautiful Kathy :o)
A really melancholy image, such sad, dark eyes.
Great work and thanks for your comment.
Beautifully done! Thanks for your comment last week. I have to admit I have admired your work for a while now, but never seem to leave comments. Now I know how nice it is to find encouraging words from a stranger...in looking at your website this week I learned after raising your children you went back to school to pursue Illustration - I wish you all the best! I hope to do the same when my boys are a little older.
So beautiful and a bit sad... I love the colors and his hair!!
Always a joy to come here and admire your work :D
Stunning piece. It evokes such deep emotion and curiosity. Well done!
