i had fun looking though the swedish fabric company website recently. this Uk based company have a great collection of scandinavian designs. the site is run by northlight (you may remember they had a bricks and mortar store in oxford for a while which i blogged here) but they are now opperating online. these are some of the fabrics that caught my eye... and dont forget

maude asbury's latest collection for blend fabrics is this colourful circus themed range called 'bailey'. maude asbury is a brand that was created by joe spiegelberg (also of blend fabrics) in 1988 in california and works with various designers and manufacturers. below: gabbie is another striking new maude collection for blend fabrics featuring colourful graphic blooms.

it was lovely to receive an email newsletter from skinny laminx announcing the arrival of a new fabric collection. 'rough cuts' has the great strapline 'inspired by scandinavian style but quite at home in africa. this is of course because skinny laminx is the work of south african designer heather moore. there are five designs available and all can be bought online and shipped internationally

Douglas toy company has been manufacturing some fun purses using my Fly Away collection.

cindy lindgren is the first designer to create a collection for new fabric business 'modern yardage'. cindy's premiere fabric collection is called 'poppy hop" which made its debut last friday, (march 15th) and features six prints in seven colourways. modern yardage is based in salt lake city and print digital fabric with each pattern also available in different scales.

there have been some fabulous new arrivals at online store hus & hem recently. especially interesting are the fabrics. my favourites are the siri and solros prints by linda sjunnersson for spira which were inspired by fields of sunflowers. look out also for 'sokeri' by hanna konola for kauniste inspired by jelly sweets covered in sugar (sokeri means sugar in finnish). see these and lots more

when i saw this fun jaffa cushion above for sale at hus & hem i wanted to know more about what kind of company could produce such a quirky design and decided to look them up. vallila is a finnish home textile company that was established in 1935 and is still family run to this day. they design their own collections and represent other companys such as designers guild to interior design and

uk fabric company tinsmiths had some lovely new cotton fabrics arrive in store last month. these lovely striking gold and pink designs (above and below) are called 'vita' and are from their hand printed collection of folk fabrics.

I am ordering a sample, but once I receive it I will be selling this new print in my Spoonflower shop.

jospehine kimberling's new fabrics for blend are called 'global bazarr' and feature patterns inspired by a morrocan casbah which have been updated with bright upbeat colours.

the new ss2013 fabrics have just arrived at liberty. this seasons new collection is called 'the flower show and is bursting with botanical prints. the designs were influenced by inspirational visits to london's chelsea flower show, artistic collaborations and archival documents. the collection celebrates the floral print, which liberty have been producing since the late 1870s. you can see all

after all the mother's day cards last week i fancied a change by looking at some fabrics. i started with a few new arrivals at fabric rehab featuring fresh spring easter colours and florals. and also spotted at fabric rehab new scandinavian bird design from kokka japan. if you like colourful vintage fabrics you might fancy a browse at the esty shop nehi and zotz from where i picked

I used this simple pattern from Made by Rae to sew up some baby pants. Don't know why I love sewing baby pants, I just do. It was so satisfying to make something with this little hippo print.

anthology fabrics have some great designs in their current range, including this lovely collection in aquas and corals 'sweet tea' by khristian a howell. below : released just last month anthology have a beautiful kids collection by angela rekucki called 'safari'. below : and finally 'blooming lovely' by lola violet.
