1. WORK IN PROGRESS - FORTS THREE COVER

Progress on the cover for Forts 3 continues to putter forward. It feels pretty good to be woking on these characters again. I took too much time away.

Art has always been therapy for me and this has been a rough year.

3. Illustration Friday: Early

Am I the only one who groaned at this week's word? I really try to think outside the box but this word just didn't inspire me at all.
I also groaned this morning when my dog decided she had to go out at 5 A.M.!
So, I took her out, poured a cup of coffee and sat down to do my entry.
This is a simple digital collage embellished with colored pencils.

Wishing you all a butterfly sunrise and a chance to sleep in till at least 7 A.M.
Happy Weekend!

4. ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY ~ EARLY

From the picture book   I illustrated, Song For A Giraffe,  this EARLY morning greeting between a baby hippo and the friendly giraffe sets the tone for a story of friendship and compassion.

6. WORK IN PROGRESS - Forts Club

I still have an awful lot to do on this one. It's a little promotional piece I'm working on for the book. Not that it has anything at all in common with "The Breakfast Club," nor do I really even like the movie. The pose is recognizable enough though.

7. Work Finished - Bird Watcher

I put the kibosh on this piece at around 1AM while sitting in my darkened home office watching MST3K on DVD, and listening to my wife snore loudly in the next room.

Life is a wondrous and splendid thing, is it not?

Some good news is that after a bit of a hiatus from my novel, I dove back into it yesterday. I think the time away from it did me good. Recharged the batteries. I'm on the homestretch now, and hopefully I'll be finished with my first draft of this thing in a month or so!

Steve!
