1. HBO Invites Fans to Collaborate On The Game of Thrones Compendium

got compendiumHBO plans to compile crowdsourced content from fans for the Game of Thrones Compendium. According to the “General Specs” section of the website, this book will feature original pieces such as artwork, photos, crafts, costume designs, recipes, music, analysis, and “anything that extends the Game of Thrones experience.”

A group known as “The Council of Editors” will assess the submissions. The judges include illustrator Gerald Brom, 11-time Jeopardy! champion Arthur Chu, celebrity chef Tom Colicchio (the man behind the Game of Thrones food truck), Marie Claire creative director Nina Garcia, the /r/GameOfThrones subreddit lead moderator Kevin Hatch, comics artist Greg HildebrandtWIRED senior editor Laura Hudson, and Game of Owns podcast director/host Zack Luye.

Those who are interested can turn in as many pieces as they would like; every contributor whose work ends up int he final book will be credited in the text and given a free copy. The deadline to send in a submission has been set for March 28, 2015 at midnight EST; the actual print book will be released some time in 2015. Follow this link to check out all the guidelines.
