Here's my pieces for this year's I Am 8-Bit art show this Thursday!
Wooden Mario:
(Acrylic on wood)
Yes, I did all the cutting, carving, sanding and screwing together all of these pieces. It was super time consuming, but totally worth it.
Wooden Luigi:

Oh, and they are kinda big.
Luigi is almost 4' tall.
Wooden Link:
4" x 6"

The fun part of Link was carving out the shield and sword.
All of this woodworking actually reminded me of making Pinewood Derby Cars for Cub Scouts with my Dad. We would spend weeks in the soggy basement with a radial saw, jigsaw, a scale and sandpaper. That was fun and almost won best of show too!

Wow, those are awesome! The combination of the low-tech medium (my grandfather used to make stuff like that, looong ago) and the modern digital content is way-cool.

When I made my Pinewood Derby Car for cubbie scouts all I used was sandpaper and my car looked a lot like the original block of wood only it went slower down the track. Wish I'd had some help with it...

very nice! next thing you know you'll be making those for trailer park yards all over the country.. I'd have one in front of our trailer! think of it a fight scene from Mario Bros. what Bowser would be 6 or 7 foot tall? you'd need a building permit for that!

such great pieces!! So good seeing you at the show tonight- your stuff looked amazing! : D I loved seeing all of them in person- i think the Link is my favorite (prob due to my affinity for the Zelda franchise), but the Mario and Luigi are so great too!!
