Did you know that in 1984, President Ronald Regan declared July National Ice Cream Month? Americans have always loved ice cream, and each part of the US has its own favorite flavor. Here are the top 5 selling flavors nationwide:
1. Mississippi – Chocolate 2. New York - Vanilla 3. Colorado – Mint Chocolate Chip
4. Iowa – Pralines and Cream 5. Texas - OREO Cookies and Cream

Why not try some ice cream on home-made waffles? Delicious!
Thanks for sharing this article about favorite ice cream. Reading that Iowa’s favorite is Pralines and Cream brought back memories of living in Omaha (which is on the border of Iowa) and working for a dairy. My favorite ice cream (by far) was Pralines and Cream. Back in Jersey, I was never able to find it the same.
Every year in July, Toms River hosts the New Jersey Ice Cream Festival where you buy one ticket and get to sample all of the ice cream from vendors from all over the state.
To make a delicious quick frozen “ice cream,” I blend one frozen banana with 2-3 tablespoons of milk or cream, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla, and 1 teaspoon of sugar (optional, depending on the sweetness of the banana). Mix in 6 chopped walnuts (optional), and enjoy!
I’ll have to try your recipe Kathy. Thanks for sharing!
