1. Paul Whitlatch to Join Hachette as Senior Editor

Paul Whitlatch is leaving Simon & Schuster’s Scribner imprint to join the Hachette Books as Senior Editor later this month. He will be reporting to Hachetter Publisher Mauro DiPreta.

The editor has worked with a number of  bestselling authors including: actor James Franco, Harvard education expert Tony Wagner, novelist David Goodwillie and former CIA attorney John Rizzo. Here is more about his latest work from the press release: “His recent projects include Enough, a book on gun violence by former U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly; Consumed, the debut novel by film director David Cronenberg; and MIT scientist David Rose’s Enchanted Objects, a book about the future of technology.”

According to his LinkedIn page, Whitlatch spent six years at Scribner as an editor. Prior to that he was an editorial assistant at W.W. Norton & Company. He also serves as an adjunct instructor at New York University, as well as a moderator at the Frankfurt Book Fair. In 2011, Whitlatch was a Frankfurt Fellow and in 2013 he was named a Visiting International Publisher by the Australian Council for the Arts. He will begin his new post will join Hachette July 21st.
