Remember Penguin creating a webisode to promote middle-grade novel Sir Fartsalot? Well, Marvel Comics, Scribner, Simon & Schuster Digital, and CBS Mobile have collaborated to do something similar, only on a larger scale. They’ve created 25 webisodes (episodes based on a graphic adaptation) of “N.”, a story by Stephen King. The webisodes will be released online and through mobile channels starting Monday and continuing for the next five weeks. King’s story is part of a collection called Just After Sunset that will be published November 11 by Scribner.

According to Shelf Awareness, the series will be available on iTunes and Amazon for $3.99. Scribner will sell the book for $28 and offer a book-and-DVD package for $37.50.

That seems like savvy book promotion to me. Like they’re trying to hook additional markets–get people who like graphic novels and comics, who might not read short stories, interested in the graphic adaptation and thus the short story collection, and have a way to promote the book, get viewers and thus potentially more readers.

I don’t read horror, so it’s not on my to-watch list, though I checked out the trailer just to see what it’s like. The drawings are well done, and the voice over is interesting. You can check out the trailer here.

This week we're talking about Fire and Ice in regards to boys. I'm going to write about boys who have written songs with HOT and COLD themes. Okay, I know I'm going to show my age here, but these are my favorite songs from growing up.

One of my favorite songs is Hot Blooded performed live by Foreigner in this YouTube video. Foreigner had some amazing songs out, but this one is the HOTtest!

When this song came out, me and my friends couldn't stop singing it. And I'm sorry, but I like bad boys and Vanilla Ice was definitely a bad boy back then (and probably still is). I know, I know, it's SO 80's. It's none other than ICE, ICE BABY!

And this is the last COLD video by a boy. It's FUNKY COLD MEDINA by Tone Loc. I loved the story this song told. It's not only a great tune, but it's funny. Tone Loc has a great sense of humor, and the story about Funky Cold Medina is hilarious. I've never had a Funky Cold Medina, by the way.
