After finally finishing my mammoth 4000mg a day of antibiotics my left leg is now looking more like the right one.  I am now hobbling around without crutches, apart from climbing the stairs, and the foot still feels a little like a penguin foot because the joint is still so tight; I'm working on exercising that every day.  So luckily things are getting back to normal.

Christmas is coming and we are getting very excited at everything that's happening around here.

Everyone is mad busy preparing for 4 days of Christmas fairs of everything Bella and Max. there'll be Bella & Max cakes, Bella & Max snow globes, Bella & Max book marks, as well lots of fabulous coloured balloons with me and Max  printed on them. It's such a shame that he has to get in on the act; anyone would think he wanted to be a celebrity or something. But he should know by now that I'm the ONLY celebrity at Ruff Life. There'll be free sweets and a free colouring activity.  B R Tracey will also be there to sign 'It's a Ruff Life' books you buy.

If you're in Loughborough on 13th -14th December visit us at the Grand Central Railway, or on 20th - 21st December in the newly revamped Silver Arcade, Leicester.  Come along and join in the fun!

Things are going to go crazy at Ruff Life.  There are so many fantastic things happening. It means more work for me. But I don't mind doing anything to make me more famous.

I mean a girl has to do anything she can to get what she wants. And I'm a great achiever in getting what I want.

I want fame, fashion, limelight and a peaceful life without a nosy, smelly brother that's always interfering.  So far I've only managed the first 3.goals, I'm still working on the 4th, but Max doesn't get any of the subtle hits I leave for him. He's just one stubborn mongrel.

The Sunday that has just passed was a great day; I got to see the first ever Ruff Life character Rover.  I hadn't seen Rover for a long time, but as soon as I walked in my friend's house, her beloved Golden Retriever, who I spent so many years walking when he was younger, struggled up on his back legs and came over for a hug, stroke and a kiss.

He's an old dog now and not able to get around very well.  He certainly couldn't get up to some of the crazy things he used to, but my eyes lit up as soon as I saw him.  We had spent many hours walking the fields of Rothley and Mountsorrel when my daughter attended Primary school.  Rover used to live at my house during the week and go back to my friend's on weekends.  This suited everyone as both my friends worked during the day.

Rover and I used to love our time together outdoors; we would meet up with other dog owners and the dogs would run off and play.  I miss those days. But life changed when my daughter went to high school and my friends' began a family of their own. I changed my job to work during the day, instead of at night, and my daughter, whose school was located close to where Rover lived, would walk him during her lunch hour.

He became a great inspiration for me, especially his unique and funny character traits that I've included in the books.  He's always been my canine hero, who is always affectionate and funny and he has made a terrific main character (Max) for the Ruff Life series of children's spy action books.

Whenever I pick up the books, especially the first one 'It's A Ruff Life', I am reminded of just how unique Rover is, and so really the biggest dedication for the success of the book series and everything else that is exciting and about to happen at Ruff Life goes ultimately to my beautiful four legged friend Rover.

The Leicester Mercury featured an article on B R Tracey and the inspiration that caused her to write the Ruff Life series.

We are so excited, even Max is excited about this and you know what a wet blanket he is,  Our New Website is being built as I write this blog.  We can't wait for it to be finished, it will be awesome.  Watch this space for more information.

I know I'm a top class MI6 canine agent but there has been many animals in both books and films that have been spies.  Can you think of any?  If so then click play the spy animal game to join in the fun at Goodreads. I think there must be 100; let's see if I'm right.

It's time for an  update. Some crazy things are happening around here at the moment and I don't mean Max's disgusting pie pig contest.  We finally have the next four book proofs to edit then they can be released, so watch this space!  To give you a heads up they are titled Diamond in the Ruff, Ruff in Hollywood, It's A Ruff Life Being Dognapped and Ruff Resort.  They are all an amazing read and like my first adventure will have you sitting at the edge of your seats, or was it me that did that when I read the first one.  They'll have you LOL and that's a promise.  I mean who can't help but laugh at that stupid dog Max?  If you don't you'll end up crying out of frustration, or is that me again?  Anyway I'll let you know the release date nearer the time.

I went skate boarding with Ben & Rover last weekend.  We went to the new skateboarding park.  We had a wicked day.  I haven't ridden a skateboard since I took down the demon in his monster truck and that was on a specially adapted racing board.

We started off on the ramps just as a warm up; we soon progressed to the half pipe.  That was something else; I'd never ridden the half pipe before and I only fell off 3 or 4 times. Ben, on the other hand, was a real pro.  He did some amazing jumps, turns and half turns.

Rover was pretty good too.  He didn't fall off at all. We'll have to plan a weekly visit here, I could really get into skateboarding as my new exercise activity.

This class was worth a lot of credits and it was an easy way to give me top marks for the end of the year.  And you know me, there's no way that I will come in 2nd best at anything. So I enrolled in the class.  I now wish I hadn't.  I'd have been far better off taking a Spanish or French class, or at least my beautiful paw nails would have been; participation in that class made them all soft.

The first thing the teacher said was that I had to get rid of the painted nails, as if...  So I used a pair of latex gloves.  Have you ever tried to work with latex gloves over your paws?  It's a recipe for disaster; the extra fingers flap around and get caught up in everything.

We made pastry but I kept getting my gloves caught under the rolling pin.  Eventually I put the pasty in a pie tin and filled it with some nice looking meat.  It looked great when it was finished.  Even the teacher said how nice and well presented it was. Of course, I made it, how else was it going to look with my natural style of flair?  I couldn't wait to take it home and gloat at Max as to how much better I was than him .  In fact I was going to eat some of it in front of him while he sat salivating.

When I got home I put my plan into action.  I went to find Max.  "Hey I've got something to show you."  I took a bite out of the pie.  The meat was nice but the pastry was hard. "This is really delicious." I then found a chewy bit, which seemed to take for ever to chew. Oh no, I thought when I realised that I had just eaten some of the latex gloves.  "Would you like some?  I made if for you."
"Thanks, what's wrong with it?"
"Nothing, I was just sampling it to show you how delicious it is." I said as I waked away.

Lord Alfred doesn't look as good as this in real life, he has way less hair!  Some of his toupee's would be more suited to Max.  They don't have my sense of style.
