1. Gail Gonzales Promoted to VP and Publisher at Rodale Books

rodale304Gail Gonzales has been promoted to vice president and publisher at Rodale Books. She first joined the company in May 2015 as vice president and associate publisher of the Trade Books division.

Gonzales will succeed Mary Ann Naples who is leaving the position for a new role at the Disney Book Group. She will report to CEO Maria Rodale.

Gonzales gave this statement in the press release: “It’s an amazing opportunity and I’m thrilled to be taking on this new role. In today’s dynamic publishing landscape, Rodale has proven itself to be an industry leader at the forefront of redefining what it means to be a successful publisher. I’m looking forward to continuing to publish the biggest and best names in the wellness space and to creating even more inspiring and empowering products for our customers to engage with.”

2. Mary Ann Naples Joins the Disney Book Group as VP and Publisher

Disney Publishing Logo (GalleyCat)Mary Ann Naples has been hired as a vice president and publisher at the Disney Book Group. Her start date has been scheduled for Mar. 14.

Prior to this development, Naples was a senior vice president and publisher at Rodale Books and Rodale Wellness. In her new role, she will serve as a representative to a variety of different members of the industry, work with authors, and oversee business strategy moves for the group.

Naples gave this statement in the press release: “I am thrilled to join the Disney Book Group with its spectacular track record of success, its world-class brands, franchises, authors and illustrators, and its amazing team. Disney has always been at the forefront of innovation and creativity, and I can’t wait to build on the great work already done in the book group.”

3. Gail Gonzales Moves to Rodale Books

rodale304Gail Gonzales will serve as a vice president and associate publisher at Rodale Books. Prior to this move, Gonzales worked as a director of integrated marketin at Simon & Schuster.

Gonzales’ start date has been scheduled for June 15th. She will report to senior vice president and publisher Mary Ann Naples.

For her new role, Gonzales will oversee the trade books division. According to the press release, some of the duties she will be charged with include developing “Rodale’s publishing program, as well as new products and initiatives with current and perspective authors and brands; cultivate synergy with Rodale magazines, integrated marketing team, and direct-to-consumer books group; and work closely with Macmillan.”

4. Mary Ann Naples Named Rodale Books Publisher

Mary Ann Naples will be the next publisher of Rodale Books, starting in her new post on March 4, 2013. Previously, Naples served as chief of business development for Zola Books.

Here’s more about the post: “As VP/Publisher of the Books Group, Naples will oversee North American trade and direct book publishing operations, including editorial, marketing, and distribution channels.”
