Congrats! I loved your inspiring sketches every day. They helped to keep me going. I was able to make it every day, although some sketches will never get to be seen by anyone but me I did it though and I am so happy and proud of myself. I will have to look into this HoHoDooDa. No school for Dec so I might have more free time Thanks Linda!

I won’t be participating in HoHoDooDa, but I might have to promote it on my blog because I love that 2011 elf so much! Anyway, SkADaMo has been really inspiring for me and it helped me learn about myself. Thanks for inspiring us all. Happy Christmas!

Wow very impressive Linda, you did an amazing job last year, glad to see you are taking up the mantle again. I think I will give it a try myself as I am working on a kids chapter book and this may be the kick in the pants I need to keep a good pace.

So what do I need to do officially to join you in your quest? How do I add your groovy SkADaMo button to my blog, or do I make my own?

btw: are you sketching digitally with a wacom or a cintiq? I ask ’cause you have kept your line work pretty close to your traditional look and when i have tried it with my wacom I really can’t draw as well, just curious.

Kevin, how fun that you’re going to try it with me! Actually, there are no rules, just grab the little badge off to the side and add it to your blog sidebar or anywhere you want to put it. You don’t really even have to do that. Maybe add SkADaMo to your tags, so you can easily access all 30 of your sketches. We can make stuff up as we go along, just mostly try to get a sketch a day up.

BTW, I’m using a Wacom and using a Photoshop brush I grabbed from someone online and then tweaked with my own texture. I can give it to you if you’d like.

I’ve been working on digital penciling as well. Not easy! Santa needs to drop a Cintiq in my stocking.

Thanks! A bit of tweaking goes on initially, but once you find something you like, brush-wise, it’s all good.

Oh man, I hear ya! My Wacom has been great, but it’s recently unable to keep up with me. I need to talk to Santa as well, hee hee!

Have you folks tried Manga Studio? it is so much better to “ink” with than photoshop, way more natural. I have used it a few times and really like it. Ooooh, that looks really cool, Kev. But really, I’m more of a pencil gal, even to the point of wanting my digital stuff to look like pencil, heehee.

Nicely done, Linda! Does not look digital at all, not easy. Over the years teaching digital painting, I built several pencils I liked fairly well in Photoshop and Painter, but for the last year I have gone back to REAL pencils. Nothing comes close, at least to me. And then there is at least a pencil original to sell.

I use digital pencil and an airbrush with shades of grey a lot for sketching on my ipad with Sketchbook Pro. I haven’t used Photoshop enough yet to be comfortable with it but I’m watching Will Terry videos to learn it.
