3. Julie Kagawa Livestream: Two New Series Announced!

In case you missed it, today bestselling author Julie Kagawa did a Livestream about her Iron Fey series in which she made three UBER-exciting announcements!

First, Julie will have a brand-new series coming out in Spring 2012 called Blood of Eden. She described it as a "post-apocalyptic vampire series" -- how awesome does that sound? The first book will be called The Immortal Rules.

Secondly, THERE WILL BE MORE IRON FEY BOOKS! In 2012 (probably Fall), Julie will begin a new Iron Fey trilogy starring an older Ethan Chase, Meghan's brother! We rabid fans can continue to get our fix!

Finally, Julie revealed the Iron Knight synopsis -- and it is intense, y'all.

***CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE IRON QUEEN***

Ash, former prince of the Winter Court, gave up everything. His title, his home, even his vow of loyalty. All for a girl… and all for nothing.

Unless he can earn a soul.

To cold, emotionless faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.

Then Meghan Chase—a half human, half fey slip of a girl— smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.

With the (unwelcome) company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end— a quest to find a way to honor his solemn vow to stand by Meghan’s side.

To survive in the Iron realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. At least, no one has ever passed to tell the tale.

And then Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that turns reality upside down, challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Julie also answered questions and read an excerpt of The Iron Knight. You can watch the full Livestream video on the Iron Fey Facebook page.

First The Iron Knight was on NetGalley, and now all this. My heart can't take the excitement!

Now, back to reading The Iron Knight...

4. Seraphs by Faith Hunter

In the second book in her post Apocalyptic trilogy, Hunter takes us once more into the world of Thorn St. Croix, a mage who, after living among humans for a decade, has been outed to the city she lives in.  The Kirk Elders call her before the tribunal to answer charges waged against her.  Of course, this is all horribly ironic since Thorn actually protects the city and has never done anything whore-like or otherwise.  She is found innocent, but many in the town still do not trust her or her abilities.  Meanwhile, devil spawn have been creeping into town and Thorn may have a bigger problem to deal with than angry villagers.  A Major Darkness wants Thorn and is creating an army to get her.  Fearful for Mineral City and her friends, Thorn must travel down into a hellhole to stop the insanity or die trying.

Though I had a hard time getting into this book as well, once in I was completely hooked.  I think, mayhap, that I waited too long in between reading the first and second book.  I won’t let that happen with the last book.

5. I've Been Tagged!

I’ve been tagged! It feels good since I’m a new blogger, working my way up the blogger ladder! It’s hard to start something new, and it’s lonely on the bottom, so I’m thrilled to have friends like Aussie Cynic tag me!

Thanks for tagging me, Aussie Cynic!

The Rules; Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write in their own blog about their eight things and post these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose an additional eight people, and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog-

Eight facts about me-

1) I' ‘m very inquisitive, and will ask anyone a question about anything. If I’m curious about something or someone, I just have to know as much as possible about them or it...

2) Simple things make me happy, like eating out, although it takes me forever to order something from the menu. Everything looks so good, and of course, I have to ask a thousand questions about it.

2) I’m friendly, and truly care about people and animals. It can be facts, right?

3) I love to sleep, however I don’t sleep enough, and I ‘m not sure why I love too. When you think about it, why does anyone love to sleep?

I mean you’re unconscious! Sleeping (unless you’re dreaming) is like being dead, you’re not aware of anything, so why do we love it?

4) I’ m only on # four? Let’s see… I’m a free and deep thinker, who loves to engage in philosophical conversations. For example ; Why are we here? What’s infinity and stuff like that, I could go on for hours.

5) I like to watch the same movies over and over, and cry during the sad ones.

7) I’ m particular with words, and take forever to write everything, including this post.

8) I know every Beatles song by heart!

If you've been tagged copy the rules, and write eight random facts of your own.

Then select eight people and post them at the end of your post. Link the eight people's addresses, including this one, then post!

Happy Writing ;)

6. Unconscious Mutterings

I went to one of my favorite sites, All For Woman and found this meme! I'm new to the blogging community, and what I've found about blogging is that I love it! It is not only a perfect writing and business opportunity, it's a great creative and personal outlet. I started this blog to promote a "begin again" writing career writing children's picture books. I have several out in the children's market. While researching the market I learned from associates about blogging. I thought it would be the perfect way to get in touch with my audience, (that is my audience after my manuscripts are published) and it has been. However, I was afraid that by writing full time at home I would miss out on much needed social interaction. Now, I'm thrilled to see I was wrong! What a great bunch of woman! I'd like to take this opportunity to say thanks to all of you sisters that have been so kind and helpful to me this past month, my first month in blogging!

I read an interview awhile back in Vanity Fair with Meg Ryan, and what she said in the interview with stay with me for sometime. She said, "if you save a man from hunger you save a life, but if you save a woman, you save the world!"

Thanks for the meme, All For Woman , I love your blog! Here are my answers to unconscious Mutterings #227 June 10, 2007
