detail of a larger watercolor work-in-progress. I find that I have to let my work "rest" while I work on another piece. I'm pretty excited about this one, but I want it to "rest" a bit until I return to it. More of my artwork can be seen on my

Tiny Dancer is an ACEO or "Artist, Cards, Editions, Originals" and the only rule for them is that they're 2.5" x 3.5". ACEO's can be any medium but just need to be that size. There are lots of ACEO sites. More of my artwork can be seen on my

I love going to dog shows, and I always take a lot of pictures. This little guy was at one of the shows I attended. I'm not sure of his breed (lost my notes), but he was so cute. Harlequin Pup is a small watercolor painting. More of my artwork can be seen on my

Hard Winter, a watercolor painting on half sheet of watercolor paper. In this piece, I was experimenting with my own cut out shapes used as stamps (the blue horses). This piece has been in a couple of shows and received an award. More of my artwork can be seen on my

Horse Love is painted from my reference photos after attending a horse show nearby. This sweet little girl seemed to have such a connection with her horse. The painting turned out a bit too sweet, but I enjoyed painting it. More of my artwork can be seen on my

Mustang Holding Pen is painted from my reference photos taken at a mustang auction. It was pretty depressing to see all those beautiful horses crowded together in holding pens. Hopefully, they all went to great homes. More of my artwork can be seen on my

This little plein air piece was done at the Jones' camp lake while meeting with a group of women artists. It's a little unfinished looking, but there's something that I like about it. More of my artwork can be seen on my

Cambria is a watercolor seascape painted from reference photos that I took while I was in Cambria, CA doing some plein air. In this one, I used a medium to block out the areas of total white. More of my artwork can be seen on my

Plein Air, Cambria was painted last fall in Cambria, CA, while meeting up with old friends. It was a wonderful feeling to sit on a big rock, listen to the ocean, and try painting what was in front of me. More of my artwork can be seen on my

Imaginary Things is part of a series of watercolor "thing" paintings. The paintings are created from my mind but often end up looking like something recognizable. This piece looks like seaweed and shells, washed up on the shore. More of my artwork can be seen on my

detail of a larger watercolor (15" x 22") that I've been struggling with for several weeks. Just about the time I think it's coming together, it isn't! I always have several pieces going at once, and will return to this one soon.

Plein Air Ponies is a small (8" x 8") watercolor done on site a few weeks ago. The horses, of course, moved constantly, so it was difficult to get a good drawing of them, but it was fun.
