"The magical artwork will draw readers in to this lusciously illustrated tale. The story focuses on possibly the last Zez, a magical creature from a far-east land, that is near extinction as forests have fallen, rivers dried up, and humans multiplied. Looking for a new unspoiled home she discovers the Treehouse Heroes—five children, each with different gifts (invisibility, shape changing, wind blowing, speed and strength) and their wise teacher. The Zez learns that General Moon, once a man but changed by his enchanted armor, has conquered all of the villages and driven out all of the Zez, leaving the towns in ruins. The Zez’s magic can help nature bloom again, but that’s only part of the solution. When the Zez is captured by General Moon’s men, the Treehouse Heroes track her to a tower in a rusted out town. Using their different powers, they rescue her and release the general from his armor causing him to disappear into smoke. The Zez, given back her freedom, continues her search leaving the village to do their part to resurrect their town. Children may enjoy this adventure and magical creature, but also get the point of personal responsibility for the environment."

This is for the Jack Kirby show that's coming up in August. I always loved the way he visually told stories made with crazy bold graphics. This one is taking an extra creature from an old comic book and painting it up in Photoshop while keeping the bold designs that Kirby created.
I wanted to do something more complicated but I've got many other projects that need my attention right now so this one will have to suffice.

Este bichito nació de un ejercicio que estoy haciendo. Dibujé todas la letras del alfabeto y a partir de sus formas básicas ilustré personajes. Este es el primero y está basado en la letra A. Eventualmente tendré una familia completa de bichitos raros.
This creature was born from an exercise that I´m doing. I drew all the letters in the alphabet and from their basic forms illustrated characters. This one is the first and it´s based on the letter A. Eventually I´ll have a complete family of weird creatures.
They told me to evolve. So I did. Now I'm confused again.

Mi Blog ha estado olvidado, pero ha empezado un nuevo año (hace rato, ya lo sé) y espero actualizarlo, al menos una vez a la semana. Han pasado muchas cosas que me han mantenido desconectada, entre ellas: construir una casa, ahora estoy viviendo en el campo, lejos de la ciudad, hay mucho verde a mi alrededor y estoy acompañada por mis perros, gatos y mi novio. En resumen ha sido un cambio maravilloso, pero hemos trabajado mucho en la casa y no he tenido mucho tiempo de concentrarme en mis proyectos personales.
Esta ilustración es del año pasado de Noviembre, pero no la había publicado. Fue hecha para una convocatoria de la página 27pm.net, que es un proyecto colectivo de ilustradores, para su exposición “Mundos desconocidos”. Las fotografías son de Natalia Uribe, gracias Naty.
My Blog has being kind of forgotten, but a new year has begun (long time ago, I know) and I hope to update it at least once a week. Lots of things have happen that have kept me away, like: building a house, I now live in the country, far from the city, there is a lot of green around me and I am accompanied by my dogs, cats and my boyfriend. Briefly its been a wonderful change, but we have been working a lot on the house, and I haven´t had much time to concentrate on my personal projects.
This is an illustration I did last year on November, but I hadn´t publish it. It was made for a web page called 27pm.net, that is a project of a collective of illustrators, for it exhibit “Mundos desconocidos” (Unknown Worlds). The photograph is from Natalia Uribe, thanks Naty.

Yeh neat. A little sorting to be done there with white sclera but dye heme edges to the eyes, and ears out of Disney or Wolverton, but apparently zero body image issues and they or their friends/owners are Krugers; or at least the ideal work for them involves faceted rather than felted specimens. Eventually I will have something for my dentist, if you keep drawing mouths and taking commissions. Please capitalize all components of nouns (Blue Girl, PENROSE Asylum, etc.)
