Step into my world!
1. Walking

Today I have strutted a city's pavement along with
A nation bled to life and realisation –
We all blend in sameness and smile –
Mind-blowing retinal residual typhoon –
No one understood the reason put forward,
Now all come to the same conclusion:
Man was born to walk on, and so he must.
Death and agony and blood and scraped metal –
Bodies tumbling down and shards of glass
In a mighty fall – all of this captured in our minds.
Some may have forgotten.
Some may still be crying, a sister,
A friend, a face once seen in a crowd.
Some have written, some have said.
Some have sung, some lay now dead.
But all, all have or had some images
Flickering before their eyes, superposed
Like so many negative images building up the pain,
Whitenoising the everyday of taking the trash out.
For those who may still not understand,
Go down in the street, walk as we all should do,
Look down at the pavement at the dimes,
Look up at the smiles, the faces,
Look into the eyes of the people of New-York –
There you shall see what it takes
to walk on.
