5. hello, bloggerland!

I'm totally enjoying my Lisa Daria Kennedy hangover. My head was so fuzzy with thought about it, I boiled my eggs for an hour and a half instead of my typical 16 minutes this morning. Oh well, we made egg salad. I can't urge you enough to look her up and if she comes to your town please take her workshop. She's an incredible artist and super knowledgeable not to mention a wonderful

9. Primitive Portrait

Just sunk my teeth into Mindy Lacefield's Primitive Portraits class. If you haven't taken one of her classes...do. She paints with such ease and that's something I've been searching for in my own process for like ever. I referenced a photo for this one and I think it looks a lot like my subject. It's a surprise gift. There is nothing better than the gift of art!!

11. Here kitty, kitty!

I'm a dog person painting cats?!?! The top one reminds me of Gus, the only cat I've ever had. He would play fetch and lived in my first apartment I shared with my sis. When I moved in with my now husband, I don't think he thought Gus was a part of that deal but the cat eventually grew on him. Then a tumor grew on the cat and we put him to sleep when he was only 5 years old. Poor Gus - the only

14. sharing is caring

Late to the New Year, yes I am. Staying away from social networking is so easy for me to do. Before more time gets away from me, I thought I would share some things that I haven't yet... 1. I have successfully gotten my butt up at the crack of dawn and worked out before going to the day job for a FULL YEAR. Something I never thought I would have enough will power to do. It feels good and now has

17. Fa la la la la y'all!

I LOVE to do crafty things but never make the time for it. So Christmas time is the perfect excuse to "have" to make stuff. Found these babies on Pinterest and they are easy and fun in a tedious, crazy-crafty kinda way.  SUPPLIES: White paint, spray paint (indoor/outdoor), mason jars, plastic animals, twine or ribbon, bells/bobbles, free printable tags, tape, super glue, yummy treats.

Preparing, painting, and plotting. That's what I'm doing. Christmas will be here and gone and before you know it, it's 2014. So get on with it. The last day to order any Frizzelstix stuff in my shop will be Monday, December 16th. Go grab something handmade like this Pink Owl painting for gifting, it's fun!  "Pink Owl" 5x7 acrylic on wood

19. je suis fini

I took French in High School. I even got to go to Paris on a class trip in 9th grade. We walked everywhere, ate duck and saw the Mona Lisa. Our teacher/chaparone got busted some years later for drugs, I think. I wonder if she used us as mules? I'm putting these up for sale because momma needs some more paint! Contact me if your interested. '  "But You're A Tiger" 8x8 Acrylic on Wood

20. yes you, you're a tiger!!

Learning to paint intuitively has been eye opening for me. I'm so excited to get into my art room and just play. No expectations. No vision of what it supposed to end up looking like then being disappointed when it falls short. The result is truly a surprise and totally you! I have a long way to go but I am having fun and that's what my soul has been searching for. Of course, I am finding

25. fart jokes are funny!

Anyone who really knows me has figured out I have a junior high sense of humor. As a dog lover I would attest that they do some pretty offensive things but their cuteness always nullifies the situation. Frenchies are no exception!!
