1. MARIMEKKO - final round-up

Following on from yesterday's Sanna Annukka posts I thought it would be great to finish the week with some Marimekko for our regular Friday eye candy feature. The line up starts with a design called Merivuokko by Kustaa Saksi which is new for SS2015. This large scale underwater landscape was inspired by a coral reef and is complimented by another print - Meriheina. Another

2. MARIMEKKO - kukuluuruu

Today's posts are all about paying tribute to the amazing work of Sanna Annukka for Marimekko. We start with one of Sanna's latest prints for the Finnish fabric legends called 'Kukuluuruu' (meaning 'peek a boo') which was inspired by the rich wildlife found in the forests of Scandinavia. Sanna's super styled animals are covered in vibrant coloured geometric shapes and gorgeous details with

3. MARIMEKKO - lamppupampula

Our second Sanna Annukka range is 'Lamppupampula' (which translates into English as lantern pom poms). This beautiful geometric design was inspired by the idea of lantern glowing on a mid-winter's night and giving comfort as it glows and lights the path. It was released as part of Marimekko's Christmas 2014 collection and features on kitchen textiles, cushions, tote bags, tableware and more.

4. MARIMEKKO - saivu

Our Final print today from Marimekko is Saivu, For this print Sanna Annukka was inspired by the combined influences of Africa and the historical province of Karelia in Finland. The designs of Kukkuluuruu, Toteemi, and Saivu all compliment eachother nicely and could easily be mixed and matched in a home. Well done to Sanna Annukka for creating such a beautiful series of prints in her own unique

5. MARIMEKKO -

Today I wanted to highlight a fab print design from Marimekko called "Pikku Huhuli" designed by Aino-Maija Metsola. The print is based on an Autumn woodland where animals are out and about before hibernating for winter. The leaping rabbit/hare motifs add real movement to the pattern and looks especially good on the mug below. Pikku Huhuli is available as fabric by the metre, bedlinen, kitchen

Apples are one of my favourite pattern subjects and this one has some really interesting centre motifs. As spotted online here.

10. FABRICS - saffron craig

Another fabric design that I have recently spotted is the cheaters quilt design by Saffron Craig. The print is from her Valley View collection which was inspired by the secret beauty of Australia's many breathtaking valley’s while paying homage to folk art, cross stitch and patch work designs. 14. DESIGNER - tasha goddard

Tasha Goddard is a surface pattern designer and illustrator, living in the Cotswolds in the UK. Tasha's latest pattern obsession is ogees and baroques, but she is "also happy to throw her designers hat at geometrics, florals and conversationals". She loves colour and likes to flood her designs with bright and sumptuous motifs and palettes that she hopes would fit well in a busy 'boho chic' home

16. KIDS DESIGN - sainsbury's

At Sainsbury's there was definitely a Spring/Easter feel to their latest range with rabbits, flowers, and bumble bees coming into stock making a nice fresh contrast to the darker winter designs. For the boys there is a big nautical collection, vehicles and a clever crane design. Sainsbury's don't yet do online shopping for clothing although this is said to be coming soon. Here are some

Today it is the turn of Marks & Spencer where this lovely bear illustration on  a long sleeved tee really stood out. Other designs include a mix of animals, painterly flowers and for spring/easter bees and bunnies.

18. KIDS DESIGN - h&m

H&M 's kids designs are often more quirky and offbeat than those found elsewhere. Noteworthy designs included this animal collage (above) made from a mix of photography and illustration, and of course the SS15 regular : the pineapple.

21. KIDS DESIGN - george at asda

Completely at the other end of the price scale from Boden comes a selection of snapshots from the more affordable George at Asda. The owl above has a fun co-ordinating print that I thought was clever with large coloured hearts scattered with a layer of tiny black hearts. George designs are sold throughout the UK in Asda supermarkets and some items are available online here.
