Maggie and Buttercup were wild about tea.
The word of the week, over there at Illustration Friday is “wild,” but all I could scare up was this docile boar, so he’ll just have to do.

Yes folks, more tortured puns from a humble April fool.
Quickly eggsecuted and puns intended!
Happy Happy, everyone!!!
So, anywho, I was going to post this yesterday for the Illustration Friday theme “Talent” but missed it by THIS much. Soooo, since this week’s theme is “Yesterday”…
Little known fact: The Easter Bunny moonlights the rest of the year for some extra scratch.
Squeaking an “Illustration Friday” in!
Two posts in one day! What the heck is going on?
After the flurry of sketching in November and December, January saw a sharp decline. Need to get back in the sketching saddle. Hmmmm, sketching saddle, that might be something to sketch, hee hee!
Anywho, this is a detail of the line, from a page, for an e-reader (in the House that Jack built, no, sorry,) that I’m working on.
Hope you’re having a lovely 2013 so far!

CHRISTMAS AFTERMATH
Let’s see if there are any HoHoDooDa Doodlers still going as we toddle on over here.

Back after a bit of a HoHoDooDa hiatus. The doodling juices haven’t quite started flowing again yet, so I thought I’d repost last year’s aftermath sketch. My Christmas stocking had some nibs for my Wacom tablet stylus, so I’m going to have to give ‘em a whirl tomorrow with some fresh doodas.
Until then, wishing you a Merry Holitween (that odd little bit of space between the holidays.)

Happiest of Holiday to y’all!

The Illustration Friday word of the week is crunchy. So I squeaked out another quick 2 sketches to try to make up for my lagging the past couple of days.

UPDATE:
Ok, I’m not sure where I got the idea the Illustration Friday word of the week was “crunchy.” Must have dreamt it. It’s actually “snow.” So, there’s snow in my image, so it still fits, hee hee!
I hope you’ll drop by here and see what my fellow HoHoDooDa Doodlers are up to.
Super quick sketch today! Off to make merriment!
Speaking of merry, jingle on over here to see what my fellow HoHoDooDa Doodlers are doing!
HIGH ELF ESTEEM
A redraw from last year.
Trying to get back to some sort of normal after the great loss suffered last week.
OH TANNEN-PALM, OH TANNEN-PALM!
Why not hula on over here and visit my fellow HoHoDooDa Doodlers!
RAIN-deer
I know, I know. I guess I have percipitation on the brain. It started raining tonight and you know, in So. Cal., that’s kind of a big deal.
Put on your galoshes and head on over here to see what my fellow HoHoDooDaers are doodling!
ORNA-MINTS
Yesterday’s and today’s puns were my husband’s ideas, hee hee, so you can blame him!
Jingle on over here to catch some of my fellow HoHoDoDa Doodlers in action.
Santa doesn’t have an iPhone yet, so he’s taking photos old-school.

As nutty as November was, what with PiBoIdMo (thank you so much Tara Lazar!) and SkADaMo, it was just what the doctor ordered as far as a shot of creative, mojo-inducing stress.
Last December, to keep the momentum going, my fellow doodle pals and inspiring muses, Marion Eldridge, Laura Jacobson and I engaged in yet another month-long sketch-a-thon we dubbed HoHoDooDa, short for Holiday Doodle a Day (hmmm, not really that much shorter. Is it?) We did our best to create a holiday-themed doodle a day… or even every other day… or as often as humanly possible, throughout December.
What with the holidays and all, I admit it’s a little crazy and there may be some gnashing of teeth and tears shed, but overall, I’m sure it will be a blast and very rewarding, as it was last year. So, doin’ it again this year!
Anyone who wants to join in is more than welcome, regardless of what winter holiday you celebrate! Let me know in the comments if you’re game, along with the best URL to use and I’ll do my best to keep a list of links going so we can root for each other and enjoy the sugarplum fruits of each other’s doodle labors.
Let the doodling commence!
P.S. By the way, I realize I cheated tonight by using last year’s doodle. Tee hee!
A Digital re-sketch of one of my Twelve Days of Christmas challenge a couple of years ago.
Swing on by and check out what my fabulous fellow HoHoDooDa Doers are doing!
Oh, and if you have joined in the fun but don’t see your name on the list, let me know and I’ll pop you on there!
ELVES – THE UNSUNG HEROES OF CHRISTMAS
During this holiday season, many of us will be rushing from party to party, slugging down eggnog then carelessly ripping apart painstakingly wrapped presents. Afterwards we will, no doubt, be thanking Santa for all the lovely gifts bestowed upon us, giving him most the credit for the momentary glee we experience as we pile up our newly aquired swag.
Well, before you tear into that last box of See’s candy, I invite you to take a moment. Take a moment to think about the folks who worked tirelessly all year long, well into the wee hours of the morning, the people working behind the scenes making it all possible, the ones really responsible for that silly smile on your face
I’m speaking of course, of the elf.
Elves, the unsung heroes of Christmas. Elves, their voices must be heard. So again, please take a moment. Think of them in their ill fitting, green suits and their pointy little shoes. Think of how their elfin efforts make Mr. Kringle look good. Think of the elves. That’s all they really want – just a moment. A moment of recognition.
A moment of recognition, and maybe an extra cookie set out on the table Christmas Eve night. (They don’t really eat much.)
Thank you, this has been a Public Service Announcement, paid for by E.L.F.S. (Elves Looking for Sympathy.)

Be sure to skate on over here to check out my fellow HoHoDooDa doers!
Cheers!
Today I am thinking about anise cookies.
Anna’s anise cookies.
Aunt Anna’s cookies.
My sisters and I make them every Christmas and they are Aunt Anna’s recipe.
I always think of Aunt Anna when I make them. I’m going to make some today and think of Aunt Anna.
R.I.P sweet, lovely, Aunt Anna.
Q: What do you call a polar bear wearing earphones?

‘He’ll just have to do’? I think it’s brilliant, a docile boar that’s all about tea. Wonderful illustration!
