The Lure of Paranormal
A few years ago, I’d never read a paranormal book. I know – tragic. I read a lot, and I’d sure heard about the paranormal genre, but it never really interested me. Why would anyone want to read about a vampire or a shape shifter? Then I read a book by Nalini Singh… I knew Nalini fairly well from meeting up each year at our national writer’s conference, and I wanted to support our local authors.
I still remember what Nalini said to me that day: Welcome to the dark side. Well, I sure liked the welcome, because I’ve never looked back! I now read more paranormal books than I read straight contemporaries, and I love writing paranormal stories almost as much as I enjoy reading them.
I don’t know what it is about good paranormal tales, but authors like Nalini Singh, Rachel Vincent and Stephanie Meyer have sure made me a fan. I love the strength of their heroes, the worlds they build, and the true escapism I can feel when I read a great paranormal book.
In my latest release, Change, the setting is contemporary but with a paranormal twist. 17-yr old Riley has no idea she’s actually a leopard shifter, or that an entire pack exists that she’s one day expected to lead. And let’s not forget Hunter, the gorgeous guy she’s destined to be with… forever.

The first paranormal I read and really liked was Undead and Unwed by MaryJanice Davidson. That's when I realized you could find well written paranormals that also had a fun side instead of constant angst. Once I realized that, I was sold.
I LOVE IT ALREADY!! Save her dead twin sister. And what can she do about the one she's promised to for LIFE? Super. Book love. Paranormals take you to another world of beings and I love how they do that!
I haven't read any by Mary Janice Davidson - I'll have to hunt those two books out!<br /><br />And I agree, there's something exciting about going to a completely different world.<br /><br />Soraya
Years ago, I read The Changeover by Margaret Many. I loved the sense of possibility that something else could be out there that it brought.
Gosh, I've read several paranormal books. Thinking back to the first one had to be Dracula by Bram Stoker. I had to read the book my sophomore year in high school, and I was hooked from then on.<br /><br />For me, I read paranormal for the excitement, suspense and dark gory scenes. I want a book that puts me on the edge of my seat and scared to go to bed without a light on. lol Paranormal

I have been reading paranormal books for years and have found that books that involve shape shifting seem to be the ones that I enjoy the most. I'm looking forward to reading this one too. Thanks for another great book to read.
The first paranormal book I read was the twilight series. I have been reading paranormal eversince. More about shifters than vampires. More werewolves. I love that wolves mate for life. Kind of romantic. But it is also absolute escapism into a make believe world!!<br />delivery.RN at gmail dot com. <br />Is this over?? I am confused!
