1. News!

After a few months of anticipation I've come to realize that my news is no longer news and there is probably a lack of interest in it at this point. Nonetheless, here it is:

We're moving to Toronto! My husband was accepted into the Furniture Craft & Design program at Sheridan so away we go! We're pretty excited about it! With this move comes a lot of changes so we've been busy preparing. The biggest change will be the expense of living in the megacity. The cost of living is almost double from that of Montreal! This, combined with Dylan being in school full time means I better be bringing in some dough!

Which brings me to my other news: for the past couple of months, I've been art directing for a small children's publisher called Beaver Books. It's felt great to be working full time again and not having to rely on freelance gigs to get by. I definitely miss doing illustration full time but it's nice to have found a job that keeps me in the children's market at least. It's been interesting to be on the other side: art directing the illustrators rather than the other way around. I really enjoy the work. Too bad I found this gig right before moving though! Luckily, I have the option to bring this job with me which is a huge load off.

So that's it, moving to TO. It will be sad to leave la belle province but at the same time this move feels right.
