Every day we as writers face fears.
Fear of rejection, fear of reviews, fear you'll never land an agent or editor, fear that your next book won't sell, fear your agent or editor won't approve those edits.
The list is endless. But the only way to overcome those fears is to face them. While I was in Europe this summer, I filmed this short vlog with tips on how to face those fears.

Gorgeous views!!!! And great advice too. Each new step is full of fear for me. I'm getting slowly braver, but it's hard!! :)

I love the friends I've made in the blogging community. They get it. They get the fears and everything that comes with trying to become published. :D
I've learned that its so helpful to share my fears or worries with other people, like my writing buddies (something I usually have a hard time doing), because they often have the same worries and you can encourage each other.
Love the vlog - looks at those views! I find acknowledging the fear and forcing yourself to examine WHY you feel that way helpful to getting through.
Wonderful advice. I particularly like the part about focusing on one's own writing and not what everyone else is doing.

My advice, keep plugging along, get good shoes, get some poles, and don't fall off the mountain. ... Oh, wait, is that another fear? Mwahahahaha.

I can face my fears . . . well...as long as it doesn't have anything to do with a shortage of chocolate...or spiders...or spiders in my chocolate - YIKES!
What an awesome vlog, from the top of the mountain! Critique partners are super helpful and supportive. And positive, encouraging people are needed, too. I've made it a point to enjoy the journey. Lots of ups and downs, but more ups and it's all worth it. I've met so many wonderful people on this journey. Nice vlog, Christina!

Sometimes realizing you have a fear and realizing it's normal and okay to have fears is the first step to moving past those fears.
It really was a gorgeous place. And you are so right. Realizing those fears is so important!
