Huh, what was I just saying? 10 minutes ago? It seems that Stan Lee has pacted yet again, this time for Apple co-founder and Silicon Valley free spirit to starts something that is sorely lacking in the world, another comic con! This time the Silicon Valley Comic Con for San Jose—and they’ve already acquired this weekend’s Big Wow ComicFest:
Stan Lee and Steve Wozniak have this morning announced the creation of the Silicon Valley Comic Con. The event’s inaugural dates set to be March 19th and 20th, 2016 and will be held at the San Jose Convention Center. With the Woz at the helm, and with help from his many friends, the event will unite America’s two greatest superheroes: pop culture and technology. SVCC will feature Hollywood celebrities and technology leaders from movies, TV, and music, as well as consumer electronics, apps, gaming and emerging innovations. Different genres and artists in comics, cosplay, science fiction, fantasy, anime and more will be in the spotlight, while panels, talks, autograph sessions, photo ops, and many more events will give fans a chance to enjoy special experiences with their favorite celebrities and content.
This weekend’s Big Wow ComicFest has become part of the SVCC family of events, and will be working with SVCC to create an annual calendar of Bay Area conventions to celebrate a range of interests and fandoms. SVCC will be at Big Wow with a large central exhibitor booth spreading the news and also playing host to a number of celebrity guests, including Guests Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy, “Harry Potter” Series), Daniel Cudmore (Master Chief, “HALO” web series; Colossus in the X-Men films; Twilight Saga vampire Volturi guard Felix) and Jake Lloyd (Young Anakin Skywalker, “Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace”) will be on site at Big WOW! for autographs and photo ops.
Based on the PR, Woz seems to be the front man for this effort, with Stan, as always, adding his smiling presence to the proceedings as a benign deity.
