4. Starting reading The Adventures of Nihu by Omoruyi Uwuigiaren on Scribd!!

This novel is a classic legend of a young hero’s magical journey through a fantasy world where he is tested with incredible challenges that can only stem from the soul of the author’s genuine African culture and vivid imagination. Being falsely accused of a crime, Nihu, a tribal African boy, is banished to the Lonely Forest. In order to regain his freedom, he must find a way to defeat the unbeatable and front challenges that draw analogies to our own realities. Like The Lord of the Rings, this epic high fantasy novel carries the reader to another time and place. Nihu gets sucked into a world inside of a stone, visits a powerful ruler in an underwater city, and befriends a group of refugees. The Adventures of Nihu will not only allow an audience of all ages to escape their own realities, but draw them into a world of high hopes, powers, and unimaginable desires.

5. The Power of A Simple Children's Book by Carroll Durodolla

It appears that the website for the Tunde books are the reason many have gone to my YouTube channel, blogs, seen me on FB, LinkedIn and so on. People must be going to the free childrens' books website that I have, showcasing the Tunde books - Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince and Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince and the Soldier Ants.

On this website they see the Carroll Durodola YouTube Channel's episode "An Evening with Princess Ayo, The African Storyteller, Part 1", which of today has 15,492 views!!! Now people, I know that could be some parents letting their kids watch it several times at night or teachers constantly showing it in the classroom as a reward for their students, but still 15,492 views is substantial!!!

I am truly grateful to the Lord and His wisdom in having me write the Tunde books or start writing them, because only two books of the series are out. And the wisdom of God to have them be free to everyone. They didn't start off free, so some people in the early years of 1993 to 2009 paid $10 a book and I always SOLD OUT whenever I went to speak anywhere. But then the Lord said "give them away", (like He's said about most of the things I had :).

Everyone, thank you for watching. Thank you for your interest. It does a soul good. http://tundethelittlenigerianprince.blogspot.com/2015/04/15492-views-later-power-of-simple.html?showComment=1429368035270#c7133904512199996921

Excerpt

The Outside World

The night was as dead as a doornail and Lady Tranquility took her seat in the neighborhood. Dag, a frustrated cat in the pool of old age, had nothing better to do than lie on the rooftop of a bungalow that was begging for renovation. The cat gazed at the beautiful earth that spread before him as if it were a balance sheet under the nose of a shrewd accountant.

Dag was not alone. Other cats that had also known misfortune lay around the old cat like a pasture clothed with flocks. Dag cleared his throat and said, “I have no passion for living any more. How can we exist without offending?”

“That is for the next world!” said Fred as he scratched his hindquarter.

Raising his head and yawning, Pork said, “It is impossible to walk through life without enemies. It may be better to live in isolation. But I have yet to see an isolated man who is happy.”

Dag sighed as if the hands of impossibility had challenged him. “Did I tell you my master has not fed me for two nights?” he asked his friends.

“No, but I have heard that bedtime story before,” said Pork as he sighed then turned away.

“I will never forget what that old man did to me,” said Dag as he shook his head.

“I have never seen you in this mood,” said Pork. “Tell us, what did he do to you?”

“Three nights ago I chased a rat into his kitchen. The little devil disappeared into a hole in the wall, which was near my master’s soup pot. I wanted to leave the kitchen, but I knew that as soon as I’d gone, the rat would come out of the hole and devour the soup. So I stayed back to keep vigil over the old man’s meal and possibly snuff the life out of the foolish r

14. Breaking Barriers

Barrier can be spiritual or physical. Whatever it may be, it hinders anyone from reaching a set goal. This significantly shut doors of opportunity. Remaining in bondage is inevitable if there is no liberation. “Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folks, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.” (John 5: 2-3). It is good to be in control and be free from every device of the enemy. To be liberated, you must scale every height and establish a healthy relationship with God. “Come and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool,” (Isaiah 1:18). Barriers only manifest when we turn away from God and embrace Satan. The works of Satan are numerous. Anyone who manifests them is lost (Galatians 5:19-21). However, evil covenants, unfulfilled vows and curses are enough to make a man taste misfortune all the rest of his life. The story of the inhabitants of Gibeon in the book of Joshua was frustrating. For fear of getting killed, they made a covenant to become servants. (Joshua 9:1-27) You cannot have such a mentality and enjoy your life. The best you will become is a poor soul living at the mercy of others. It is God’s will that all men be saved. But for your life to be crisis free, you must be hindrance free. Only genuine connectivity to God can send your enemies to blazes. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all,” (Psalms 34:19). Have you got the message? Will you confess and forsake your sins right now and give your life to Jesus Christ? Ask God to forgive you. There is hope for someone like you! Written by Omoruyi Uwuigiaren

15. Outpouring Anointing

The anointing that breaks any yoke only exists in Jesus Christ. “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light,” (Matthew 11: 28-30.) The days are evil and you cannot afford to be stranded. Life is good. Only people who have received God’s touch can manifest great things. Remember what transpired in the house of Jesse? (1 Samuel 16:1-13) The story means that God respects no one and His anointing can take anybody to an enviable height. You don’t have to be a Pastor, Evangelist or an Apostle to be highly anointed. What God only demands from you is a pure heart. “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God,” (Matthew 5:8). You cannot be secured without the anointing. The moment David was anointed, he received a lifting that changed everything about his life. The shepherd boy moved from the forest to the palace! “And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight,” (1 Samuel 6:22). God’s presence takes away the struggle and gives you an open door that no power can shut. We are now in the era of the spirit. You must rule in the spirit to gain command. Do not be deceived. God is not looking for people who are qualified. He is looking for people He will qualify. And if you make yourself available, you will be the next big thing! God needs you to lead the revival. But you must have a big heart to qualify for the anointing. “Yea, doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the lost of all things and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,” (Phil 3:8). The world is a stage. Anybody can get on the stage but it takes people who are extraordinary to remain there! The only time you cannot be eased out is if you are relevant. And that is why God needs you. He wants to make a champion out of you now! Anointing is spiritual. You cannot encounter it on the wheels of carnality. All you need at this point is to identify with God and be saved. Turn a new leaf and give God a chance to work with you. Stay blessed. Written by Omoruyi Uwuigiaren

18. Meet Nihu, The Aventurer: Review of "The Adventures of Nihu" by Grapes (Southeast USA)

When Nihu is accused of murder by the king. He must run away quickly or die an innocent man. He is not his uncle's murderer! The Adventures of Nihu by Omoruyi Uwuigiaren is a book full of adventure and magic. Yes, the author took me into a beautiful and ugly world of fantasy. I held on tightly to the author's hand because of the many dangers and strange sights. All of these magical happenings take place in Africa in The Lonely Forest. During his travels Nihu meets with a frog looking girl named Suli, a six inch guy named Ndolo who owns a special light and Argon, the ruler of the mountain which just might end Nihu's normal life.

The great deceiver made me a foul toad. He accused me of staring at him while he was offering a sacrifice in the pit.

Also, the African setting is wonderful. There are Baobab trees, of course, monkeys, Iroko trees and believe it or not crocodiles fighting boas. I won't tell which animal wins this hard smacking contest in the wilds. There are talking trees and a talking cockerel. Let's just say the novel is full of the African forest.

"The tree gushing out blood reminded Nihu of the ancient Iroko tree, the home of witches and wizards."

"The monkeys were hopping through the trees. The fruits on the tree were ripe enough to serve their hungry purpose."

Along the way Nihu meets special people willing to help him. Unfortunately, they are not with him long. However, they willingly share their adventures with Nihu including the death of a special friend. Nihu is a good listener. He is open to all new and honorable truths hoping each one will lead him to freedom and back to the countryside. One friend is Phil.

"You have no choice, my boy, Since Macques' death, I have been living alone. You can too...A solitary life is not such a bad thing. I have new-found confidence after I have eaten and lived with the jungle devils..."

I read a great interview with the author, Omoruyi Uwuigiaren, by Joey Pinkney. After reading the interview, I had to download the novel to my Kindle. I had no choice. I liked the young author and became curious about The Adventures of Nihu.

CHAPTER ONE
THE LONELY FOREST

As the evening gradually took her place in the scheme of things, farmers observed it was rather too late to continue their ambitions on the hillside. Thus, they began to journey back to their proud heritage—the countryside that they called home. As they walked, the bush paths felt their coming, and their wild hits of feet wrote frustration on the face of old Earth. Rickety legs would do no harm to such a hard Earth—she would laugh if such feet would keep treading all day.
Gubado also had his share of a good day and was returning home --pride hung from his neck like an Olympic medal. Those who knew what pride could do also assumed that his high mindedness was because he was going to be given a piece of land that set him apart from his brother, Goudonas, the father of Nihu. This transfer of property would render Nihu’s father as one of the poorest in the family.
As the farmers reached their various destinations, Nihu, a young hunter who was known for playing flute in his local district, was out that evening with bow and arrows. It all began well for him, for an opportunity came his way immediately. As he advanced into the forest, he ran into an antelope that was busy grazing near a bush path void of human activity. Nihu squinted his eyes and took aim, but his shot went wide and the arrow stuck into a tree. Meanwhile, the antelope rose, noticing the action that was against its poor soul, and faded safely into the nearby bush. As for Nihu, he did not go to recover the arrow that struck the tree. He drew another arrow from his quiver and went another way, still in search of an animal for the night. When all effort to get one failed, he retreated home to grab his dinner and put the day behind him.
After Nihu had gone, a robber, who had seen the shot to the antelope, was lying in ambush, awaiting his prey of the evening. He got hold of Nihu’s arrow to use as a weapon if, eventually, he ran into anyone. Like any thief that would never want to be caught or seen, he took cover like a militia in the woods, knowing that his prey would be along shortly.
When Gubado emerged from the evening’s shadows, the pride of a champion was still alive within him. One could see the high look standing far taller than the pair of legs that carried him. That pair of rickety legs could provoke laughter in a congregation of people with dark conscience. Laughter would reign gloriously on their faces because of what nature made out of him.
Pride and fulfillment walked on the most precious streets of Gubado’s heart. Perhaps an orator had sold the new look to him. The glory within the noble farmer did not encourage him to take a careful look here and there. Maybe Gubado would have seen the robber when he came out briefly to see if a victim was on his way.
As Gubado got close, the robber fell upon him. They had a fair struggle. Gubado fought back with the cutlass he hung around his neck, but his blow came late as the robber had already driven the arrow into Gubado’s chest. As he staggered, his cutlass fell to the ground and he began to battle very hard to overcome the cruel hand of death that gradually enveloped him. The robber got hold of the cutlass that was lying somewhere in the dirt and zapped off Gubado’s head.
The deal was done. Gubado’s body rested peacefully on the bare chest of the Earth as his head rolled unto the edge of the bush path. Quietly, the thief collected all that was on the severed countryman. Rings, beads and all his belongings were placed in his pockets. A future o

20. New in my blog: "Man in the Mask" from the novella-in-progress, STRANGER IN THE FARM by Omoruyi Uwuigiaren. Enjoy!

CHAPTER FOUR
Man in the Mask
The night was cold. The few stars that sat on the doorstep of the sky could not light up the poor earth. As darkness ruled, fruit bats had a field day. They flied and fed all night. When it was midnight, Mr. Ajayi and Tolu had already surrendered to the subtle call of nature and was fast asleep. The farmer and his worker were snoring hard in a corner when the thief emerged from the fence. The man who was as dark as the midnight wore a mask he felt could hide his identity. Just as he had always done, he climbed down from the tree.

As soon as he touched the earth, he adjusted his huge frame as if he had just won a lottery and flung a glance about. Sensing that no eye was watching, he flashed a menacing smile at the farm, nodding quietly. It was time to steal. He placed his filthy hand on his torch as his sack hung loosely on his broad shoulder and began to move quietly to where the eggs were. But after five steps or more, he paused and looked carefully about. Fear seemed to have crept in and was taking its toll. Afraid that he could be caught off guard, he looked about more carefully again, and flashing the torch. As expected, he dropped the confusion on the doorstep of the past and moved on. The thief had barely gone a distance when he caught his foot on a log of wood and fell. The man yelled as if he had lost a vital part of his body and quickly jumped to his feet. Panting, he flashed his torch about and was happy that there was nothing to fear about. Not sensing danger, he adjusted his mask, for it was the only thing that begged for attention. He did not bother to dust his clothes, he sighed and moved on.

Unknown to the thief, his miserable fall had woken Mr. Ajayi and Tolu. They jumped to their feet and looked about. They saw someone moved into the corner where eggs were kept. Without wasting time, they grabbed their weapons with an iron grip and followed the man quietly. When the thief got to where he usually stole eggs, he quickly brought out his sack. But when he moved closer, his hope was dashed. His jaw dropped, he gasped and beat his chest because there were no eggs! The thief thought he was in dreamland. Then he pulled his mask up and looked out under it about the poultry, flashing his torch in disappointment. Not to leave the farm empty handed, he decided to steal some hens. With filthy hands, he grabbed hold of a hen and twisted the neck. The fowl stretched and he placed the lifeless creature into the sack. The wicked soul smiled faintly and turned to the next hen. But just as he grabbed it and almost robbed the hen of its life, Mr. Ajayi and Tolu rushed in, flashing torch and wielding their weapons at the thief.

Seeing the men, the thief was alarmed and he almost died of fear. He threw the sack away and took to his heels. As he faced the exit with his legs almost touching the back of his head, Tolu ran after him and brought down the thief with a blow. The criminal groaned in pains as he crashed on the floor. Mr. Ajayi and Tolu stood over him with torch to his face. “Show your face!” Mr. Ajayi thundered with his cutlass hanging in the air, though, he was not ready to shed his blood.

Afraid he might get killed if he refused; the thief reluctantly took off his mask. Mr. Ajayi did not believe his eyes. He thought he was in dreamland. So, he wiped his face with the back of his hand and looked carefully again. His mouth and eyes were widened in surprise when he realized that the thief was his friend, Mr. Bode. He exchanged sad glance with Tolu and shook his head. “So, you are the person doing this to me!” the farmer roared as he returned same glance to his friend.
Mr. Bode looked foolish and tried to hide his face in shame. “Please, don’t kill me. I will return what I have stolen!” He could not help the quiver in his voice.
“Shut up! Why did you decide to ruin me, Bode?”
Mr. Bode burst into tears and tried to explain: “It’s the devil. I don’t know what came over m

Chapter One
There was no rain for weeks and the scorching sun showed no mercy on the leaves such that one could hear the sounds the leaves made when they fell. The sun shone as if there might never be tomorrow. In the midst of this hardship was a man that most people called Ogbuefi. He grew up in a dinky little town that did not even have a movie theater. The man seemed to be robust due to many years of inactivity and his baldhead shone like an afternoon sun. Ogbuefi had lost so much and there was no way he would forget in a hurry the truckload of misfortune that crept into his life like a man that dined with mischievous people. Adversity came like the rushing wind upon the poor soul.
However, all that had befallen Mr. Ogbuefi were nothing in comparison to the harm that he had caused the world. With nothing better to do, the man in the pool of old age sat on a sofa in his sitting room, and spread his hands on the soft cushions like the mother hen that protects her chicks from the cruel hands of scavengers. The house was befitting and a man did not need a prophet to tell that Ogbuefi had tasted fortune.
One day, Ogbuefi and his cohorts were in a deal that could rob them of their jobs in the progression of days. One of the key men in the company that they had tried to lure into the deal had backed out and vowed to expose the fraud should they go ahead with the deal. Against all odds, Ogbuefi and the men that saw the deal as an opportunity to set foot on the corridors of wealth were in a room plotting the way out of the bloody mess. “I’m afraid, since Ekanem and Efe are out of this deal, we might not make it,” Ogbuefi said.
“I have pondered it too. Do we call off the deal?” Sam inquired.
“No! Eteh said. “We can’t give up because Ekanem and Efe are not interested. This money is enough to put a smile on our faces.”
Ogbuefi heaved and sat up, “You are right, Eteh. But the money could also ruin us if we are caught!”
“I wonder why they refused to be part of this deal,” Sam said with a frown.
“My mind tells me that those men are up to something,” Eteh disclosed. He sat back and exchanged glances with the other men.
Ogbuefi coughed a bit and said, “Me too. We shall do ourselves great harm if we back out of this deal now because they will end up executing it alone in the future since they are already aware.”
Sam sat up, “Ah! That will be sheer madness if they try it. If that is the case, what do you want us to do?” He flung a glance at Ogbuefi.
“We must get rid of them! It will only cause the company few weeks of search to replace them,” Ogbuefi suggested.
Sam shook his head, “You are going too far. Can’t we visit a witch doctor to prepare charms for us?”
Ogbuefi swallowed hard and replied, “It is risky. I don’t want us to involve a third party. When we get there, we may end up disclosing all that are supposed to be kept secret to the witch doctor. And I don’t want that.”
“The assassins are also third-party. So what is the difference?” Eteh protested.
Ogbuefi nodded, “There is a huge difference, Eteh. We shall not be under any obligation to disclose information about the deal to the assassins. All they need from us is the whereabouts of the target and their cash once the deal is done!”
Sam nodded affirmatively. He seemed to like the idea. “If that is the only way we can all smile, then let’s go ahead with your idea, Ogbuefi.”
Ogbuefi straightened his chin as if he had just won a lottery and took a deep breath. “I will see the boys tonight and they will take it from there.”

24. Hard Tackle

There is a common saying in Nigeria that “The police is your friend”. The essence of the statement is to create a healthy relationship between our brothers in black and the populace. But if we send out a questionnaire, I doubt if the respondents will put a smile on the faces of our friends whose duty is to give us the necessary cover when the odds are up against us. No man will like to have anything to do with what will make him walk on the wheels of fire! We are all aware that the responsibility of the police is to keep public order, prevent and solve crime. But looking at the way our society is drowned in the pool of corruption, and has embraced evil manipulations, no doubt both acts have incurred frustration on the future of our nation. In fact, we do not need a prophet to tell us that most of our policemen like some of our leaders are not better than gamblers worshipping at the temple of Mammon!

Have you visited Lasu/Isheri road recently? A movie maker that is daring as if there might not be tomorrow would make a fortune from capturing scenes from that blessed world. People from that part of Lagos always have the luxury of seeing such policemen who see nothing wrong in molestation and forceful extortion of money from road users and drivers. They are like mad despots who would do nothing other than bulldoze forces against their ambitions. Swimming in the pool of corruption, even a criminal or a law breaker is righteous once he meets their financial demands. Immediately they grab the cash that is the end of the story. The road is cleared, and the driver whether he is a man of questionable character disappears into the thin air! There can never be peace if we have such people in the Nigerian Police Force.

Where we have illegal road blocks at every thirty seconds drive, an arrangement by men who have terror sitting comfortably in the balls that sit in the sockets of their skulls, what we shall see is a trial of waste. I must confess, police presence on our road is important and I think every Nigerian with the right thinking will agree with me. But in a situation where they constitute nuisance to the public and make life a living hell by their unscrupulous manners is not palatable. If they concentrate on extorting money at check points and road blocks and fraudulently enrich themselves by these means, what time will they have to strategize and chase criminals? We have been bedeviled long enough by corruption, and this must not continue. I think the Nigerian police needs help. As a matter of fact, it is time we set up an organized body to check their excesses on our roads. This will go a long way to flush out the bad eggs frustrating the reformation. Fellow Nigerians we need reformation urgently!

I hear people say that crime rate have reduced considerably and that credit should be given to the Nigerian police. With all the breath in me, I disagree. The tranquility that took her esteemed seat in our homes is because criminals that would have made our lives a living hell have found a new lease of life in email scam, cyber crime and so forth. If a man could make so much money after sending fraudulent emails and messages from the comfort of his home, why will he need to risk his life running around town with a pistol?

I am scared! If we finally cub the menace of cyber crime, the criminals will return to the street, and you and I will be at the receiving end. We must call the police to order. Their activities on our roads show they are begging for orientation.

Nigeria has a great future and I am part of it. God bless

25. Night Rain

When I was in the pool of the natural state of rest in which my body and mind embraced as if there might never be tomorrow, a strange noise from my neighbor’s house hit the air and robbed me of my comfort. I jumped out of the bed and glanced carefully to every side.

My breath was hitting the roof of my chest vehemently because I thought a devil had struck to wreck the havoc. My heart almost stopped in the fear of it. But just as the mischief walked into silence, and there was no interloper lurking, my fear was buried in the bosom of sudden death. Then I concluded that the poor soul must have had a strange battle with a miserable rat from a dark oblivion, and such was a daily occurrence under the roof of the neighbor.

After staying awake for a while and the time stood at 3:28am, I had nothing better to do than rest in the comfort of such imaginings. But just as I closed my eyes in the pool of the Lady Tranquility that took her esteemed seat in my house, I found myself in another house in the midst of some warlords who were armed to their teeth. In the same house with us were an angel and a lady who seemed to be swimming in the pool of godlessness. Her romance with the wicked world had become a cause for concern to her creator.

And as we watched like militia in the woods, the angel told the lady with an admonitory tone of voice to accept Jesus Christ as her savior. But she snubbed him completely and left the room through the backdoor. Before I could blink, I was tossed out of the house and I found myself on a field where there were people anxiously gazing at the big blue sky that spread before them like an old balance sheet under the puckish noise of a shrewd accountant. What baffled me here was that the people had the luxury of touching the bare chest of the sky. So I moved nearer to catch a glimpse of the mystery that displayed up there.

As soon as my pair of legs carried me to yonder place, I noticed that there was a part of the sky that had a little opening, and through it, the balls that sat in the socket of our skulls could see a rare event. Like everyone opportune to be out there, I had the luxury of seeing angels and Jesus Christ whose head was beautified with a crown dressed gorgeously on horses. Then a voice sounded that they were preparing to storm the earth! Before I could snatch a breath from the wings of the morning, the host began to approach the earth. I have never seen kings and queens so beautifully dressed like the host. I had a golden chance to see the beautiful face of our Lord Jesus Christ and I grabbed it with both hands. His face was as bright as the shinning sun and there was no spot or wrinkle. But when I tried to look at the balls that sat in the socket of his skull, my eyes betrayed me and the radiation on his face stood like the sun in its full radiance.

As they advanced, the scene faded away and I found myself in the middle of two worlds. The glory of one of the worlds was reaching the high heavens and it was beautiful to behold. But the other was a sharp contrast and only a fence separated me from moving into the beautiful world. Despite the limitation, I could still see the beautiful streets of the other world. There was so much admiration in the city. It was orderly and clean. The streets and the roads were like the dawning of a new day. The people on the streets were dressed in the same attire. As I enjoyed the proceedings and the movement of the people up and down the streets, I was astonished to see men moving about in the air. They held tapes for measurement and at intervals
