Sorry for being so quiet. Just been insanely busy. :S And I've been uploading some of my sketches and whatnot to my scrapbook file rather then to my regular DA page, just to keep it from looking to terrible. :) But took a few minutes to doodle this up last night. Wanted to try creating some quirky characters and wanted to do something similar to Alice in Wonderland, so I somehow created this. :/

I felt like trying out some painting techniques, and since I don't have that many photos of real life items to paint, or was just too lazy to go find/take pictures of them, I just picked one from some of the photos that inspire me. This one on the left by
popoks is beautiful. I can't find the direct link, but her gallery is full of amazingly colorful pictures, so be sure to check them out. This one was simple and full of vibrant stuff so I tried my hand at it. Not sure I like the outcome, but it was fun to push myself to try something I don't normally do.
A couple of pieces where I've been practicing my illustration techniques and layouts. I'm so rusty! I haven't really done anything 'illustrated' in ages. Just stand alone images usually. I'm not happy with the complete outcome of the room so far. But I like the look of the floor and wall. But I think the dancing cat would look better in an other environment. Hopefully I'll get around to creating something more accommodating for her soon. :)

Just mostly playing around with layouts here as the piece is clearly unfinished and needs much work. But I like the way it all fits together myself. I have other ideas I'd like to use the frame for so I may try to eventually get to those instead of going anywhere with this.

I have to admit, Charlie Brown was never my first go to cartoon as a kid, he was a bit before my time really, but as I've gotten older, I've really enjoyed seeing it more. So while it's not quite Valentine's day yet, I thought it would be fun to share this with you guys early. :)
I wanted to practice more with this latest technique of what looks like digital 'painting', I suppose, so I decided to try drawing some angry birds and pigs. I didn't have reference pics for them all at the time, so they're not all here, but thought I would share the few I did with you guys.
Just some more random practice. With spring coming, I seem to be particularly drawn to bright, cheerful colors.
