Jennie Harbour was a Deco Era illustrator of children's books for Raphael Tuck & Sons, London. Her illustrations were extremely popular in her time. Even today, her illustrations are so memorable that she is often portrayed as the author of the books she illustrated, when in rerality she never wrote a book . Published credits of Jennie Harbour include Illustrated Classics: My Book of Favorite Fairy Tales, My Book of Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes, Hans Andersen Stories and reprints, The Fairy Tale Book, The Nursery Rhyme Book and Old Time Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes. She is also credited with the small, accordian fold-out book entitled Fairy Tale Gems, with pictures from My Book of Favourite Fairy Tales with rhyming verses by Hilda Hart. She is also credited with the reproduction of My Book of Favourite Fairy Tales and My Book of Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes in America, by the David McKay Company, Philadelphia. Further to her credit by Mckay are: The Yellow Fairy Book and The Green Fairy Book, by Andrew Lang. Modern reproductions of some of these books have been modified as some stories are deemed inappropriately violent for modern readers. However, her illustrations remain unchanged.
