Hastings House Book Publishers

With a background of more than 60 years of publishing books of distinguished authorship and high production standards, we are pleased to call attention here to the major fields of interest in which we currently had active programs. Architecture and Interior Design Published for the most part under the imprint of our associated company, the Architectural Book Publishing Co., (founded in 1895), we are also the U.S.A. distributors of books in this field originating in Germany, Switzerland, England, and Mexico. Children's Books Publishing a selective list of about 16 titles per year, there are now numerous titles ranging from kindergarten age to books for young adults. Communication Arts Books Authoritative books on the mass media (television, radio, motion pictures, journalism) comprise a steadily expanding program in these areas including two new series, Studies in Public Communication and Studies in Media Management under the editorship of Dr. A. William Bluem of Syracuse University, and the distinguished Library of Communication Techniques and the FOCAL ENCYCLOPEDIA OF FILM AND TELEVISION TECHNIQUES published in cooperation with Focal Press Ltd., London. Cookery and Wines Headlined by books such as Frank Schoonmaker's ENCYCLOPEDIA OF WINE and THE WINES OF GERMANY, Edouard Kressmann's THE WONDER OF WINE, our program in this field includes the Chamberlains' "In Recipes and Pictures" series (THE FLAVOR OF FRANCE, 2 VOLUMES, THE FLAVOR OF ITALY, THE SAMPLER OF AMERICAN COOKING) with Samuel Chamberlain photographs and many others. History and Americana Featuring authentic books of Western Americana such as the epics of the Great Plains by Mari Sandoz (8 volumes, of which THE BEAVER MEN: Spearheads of Empire was the last published) and books illustrated by the great Western artist, Nick Eggenhofer, this program has included titles such as GREAT AMERICAN MANSIONS (in two volumes) by Merrill Folsom, A PICTURE REPORT OF THE CUSTER FIGHT by William Reusswig, The American Procession Series edited by Henry G.
