Hardie Grant Egmont will consider fabulously charming proposals for fiction and nonfiction books aimed at the general kids’ market.
Before submitting your manuscript, please consider the following guidelines carefully.
Submitting your manuscript
Your submission must enclose the following:
1. A dated cover letter that demonstrates:
• An understanding of your proposed audience.
• Knowledge of the competition and an explanation of how the book fits in with the existing market (in what way is it better than or different to what’s already been published?)
• An outline of any previous publications.
2. A one-page synopsis of your story proposal.
3. A sample of your writing (no more than 1,000 words). If relevant, you can include two copies of sample illustrations (but please do not send originals).
Your submission must be typed and pages numbered.
