awalters said: What a powerful story! THE BIG LIE totally engaged a small group of middle school Title 1 reading students. The subject matter (the Holocaust), makes it a story for intermediate readers although the reading level may be a bit lower. It lends itself to developing vocabulary and teaching drawing conclusions. Online resources make it a good choice for small group instruction.
