I love children's and teen fiction books. They're so often inspiring, uplifting, filled with hope or thoughtfulness.

I have always loved to read and to write; I can’t imagine not being able to. Books give me so much. I really enjoy editing fiction, too–helping to focus it, to hone it.

My first YA novel, a hi-lo (high interest, low vocabulary) fantasy--Dragon Speaker: The Last Dragon, came out in Sept 2009 from HIP Books.

My second YA novel, Scars, an edgy realistic novel about a girl who self-harms to deal with sexual abuse, comes out in the Spring of 2010 from WestSide Books.

I write teen fiction–paranormal fantasy and gritty realistic fiction. I also have two short stories published–one teen paranormal fantasy, and one teen gritty realistic story.

I try to write what I love to read, and what has meaning for me.
