I love stories. I love to read them, write them, and listen to them. I guess that explains why I’ve loved being a reading teacher. I could share my love of reading and writing with my students. I’m always on the lookout for a good story. Some of the stories I wrote started with something that happened to me. I wrote Coaching Ms. Parker when I had to play in a faculty-student baseball game even though I was a terrible baseball player. And the Matzah Ball Fairy was born one Passover when I was cooking my own matzah balls. I also like history, and some of my stories, such as The Narwhal’s Tusk and Where Was George Washington? include true facts from the past.
I feel very lucky to be able to read and write and teach about stories -- something I love.
