They find ready acceptance and happiness in Baltimore, but bad medical advice sends them on a wagon train in search of a warmer climate.
Fate brings them to a small town straddling the California Oregon Trail. Which at first sight appears to be the end of nowhere, but in fact proves to be a blessing and provides the means for the creation of life long friendships.
Tragedy and heartbreak strike, but the sheer determination of the patriarch Henry to provide his son Jason with a sound future pays off.
Years of hard work and the refusal of a teenage Jason to back away from confrontations that could result in his immediate death, lay the foundation of the McComb dynasty, and the establishment of the McComb name as one to be respected in the fledgling state of Wyoming.
