Despite finding his editor-in-chief (a close friend of the city commissioner) a hard obstacle, he follows his instincts to solve two of the city's mysteries.
That reporter's defying attitude will make a huge difference at the end of the story.
Meanwhile he fights against their oppressors; the suicide of one of his friends takes place.
