In this science fiction thriller, Phillis Gallenne is an eleven-year-old African American. She is a constant target of playground bullies that terrorize her. But the elementary school thugs chose the wrong child. To their horror, they soon discover an academic genius. The whiz kid counterattacks the juvenile warlords and sends them reeling into defeat. How she accomplishes this feat is the stuff of legends. The Afro wizard travels way back in space-time with her laptop computer designed as a time machine to visit Merlin the Magician. The suspense builds up when she makes a deal he can't refuse: If he shows her how to shrivel bullies' minds and bodies, she will find the Holy Grail for him. Stunned and humbled by Merlin's magic after the child's return to the 21st century, the classroom hooligans surrender. High minded in victory, Phillis earns the respect of her former enemies by showing them how to channel their negative acts into positive ones. They follow her leadership to improve ghetto schools by way of a children's crusade for better educational opportunities.
