An historical epic of a small (6yr. old) German boy's terrifying experience of running from the advancing Russian army - only to be thrust into a Danish prisoner of war camp - until after the end of the Second World War in 1948 "It was a bitter cold Night in January 1945. The air raid sirens were screaming from the rooftops like many other nights. The sky was lit up like a Christmas tree, only this night, Koenigsberg was under a barrage of bombings that left us homeless. Mom, Eva and I fled the invading Russian army, with no food or extra clothing and nothing but fear. It started a journey of hunger, frostbite, pain and hope. It also started a search for a new life and a new home. Even today, over half a century later, I suffer recurring nightmare and sleepless nights."
