But this is no ordinary neighbour. The village elders deny its existence, the librarian has locked away all references to it, and brave men stammer when its very name is murmured. By going Nowhere Nimrod is forced to come to terms with a harsh reality that turns upside down everything he ever took for granted in his cosy cake-filled sleep-driven life. He crosses paths with a scatterbrained sage with a split personality, comes up against the misshapen kindness-hating Nowarts, and falls into the clutches of the architect of things dark and dangerous, the complex Virgil Podd, whose troubled secret lies locked in a rusty lozenge tin squirreled away behind a stone in Dunroamin' Castle.
